Obviously if Clemson wins the title this post will look a little dumb (though still hold a lot of truth), but this bowl season has shown just how mediocre the ACC is right now.
To start off the second best team in the conference, Florida St., is currently getting absolutely dismantled by the mighty Houston Cougars in the Peach Bowl. I know I know Houston actually is pretty good, but they're nothing special having had to squeak out wins against Cincy and Memphis with a loss thrown in against UConn, and the 9th ranked Seminoles have just looked pathetic.
The ACC's next best team, North Carolina (who went a perfect 8-0 in conference play), lost by double-digits to a good, not great Baylor team.
Louisville had the one nice bowl win for the conference, a 6-point win over Texas A&M. Nothing crazy but at least it's something.
Going down the line you've got Pitt who lost by 16 to Navy and Miami who lost to Washington St., a team we could've even beaten. Sad.
Duke and Va Tech managed nail-biting, three-point victories over Indiana and Tulsa, respectively, but really who cares?
And for those who still the ACC is the best basketball conference (I doubt anyone still thinks that but they used to be dominant), they've only got 2 teams, UVA and UNC, in the top 12. Not so dominant if you ask me.
