When did Bowman brand get acquired by Topps ? Shelby showing his age.
almost all the brands got acquired over the past 20 years and consolidated down to Panini, Topps, and Leaf basically with Panini currently having the NFL and NBA licenses and Topps having MLB

thanks all...didn't know these industry details. knew Bowman was an old brand, thought they went under a long time ago.

Leaf (Donruss) offers baseball cards even though they have no license with MLB and no deal with the MLBPA - the result is cards of prospects and former players with no team names or logos - such nonsense (although I did pull a Pudge auto green refractor the other day)

yeah they and Wild Card do it for all types of sports despite not having licenses, but it also gets them to be pretty creative with their card designs to try to make up for it, some of them being downright hilarious like the Wild Card Dino-Might series.

The Donruss brand got acquired by Panini as well

I have cards from the 1950s and 1960s of hall of famers worth less than a new Ace Bailey. Supply and demand.

Posted this in the Harper thread-- but I will post it again to see what everyone thinks Ace Bailey's first card print run will be...

Print runs for the Harper Cards have been released....

Harper's first card has a print run of 3268. Meaning, if you bought one, even though it will not be numbered (unless it is a parallel) will be one of 3,268 in existence.

Odds of parallels:
/25 Game-used Sneaker redemption card
/10 Game-used Sneaker Autograph-Relic redemption card
/5 Game-used Sneaker Autograph-Relic redemption card
1/1 JUMBO Game-used Sneaker Autograph-Relic redemption card

Base Card Parallels are randomly inserted into every print run! Look for Numbered Parallels:
/49 Blue
/25 Purple
/10 Red
/5 Orange
/1 Gold

Harpers SECOND card has a print run of 546! This gives us very good odds at getting a parallel:
/49 Blue/25 Purple/10 Red/5 Orange/1 Gold

Hopefully some of us on the board end up with parallels or the HIGHLY coveted sneaker/auto relics.

its so wild that we have two basketball players with first print limited editions that are hot buys because they potentially might end up the first two picks in next year's draft

What are parallels?

It's just random if you get a normal one or not. The more people that buy the card the less chance you'll get

The first Dylan card I think was 3k something ordered and 2nd one in the hundreds

How do parallels work if there are no boxes or packs? Do you just buy the parallels?
They are randomly inserted into orders. For example, if you buy a 5 pack. 4 base cards might show up and 1 parallel.

The parallels will have a different color border and will be numbered, making them more rare and valuable.

Some collectors like to collect the "rainbow" and own all of the different colors available. For example:

I believe each individual card comes in a sealed ‘pack’. So you don’t know what you’ve got until you open it, being a regular card, parallel card or a relic card.

I have purchased various Topps Now cards in the past, and they always arrive in a bubble mailer inside of a cardboard "sleeve" and then inside a plastic case. I have never received an insert.

However,

A good friend of mine recently received a bubble mailer with a cardboard sleeve and inside was a sealed pack. Inside of the sealed pack was a parallel.

It was a Topps Now Shohei Otani card. He could have sold the sealed pack for about $400-$500. Instead, he chose to rip open the pack. It contained one of the higher printed parallels that is worth about $120.

Here is an example:

I'm a novice at this. I ordered 5 of Harper and the same of Bailey. How do I know if I have a parallel?

There should be a design on the accents of the card that resemble a different color, and/or there would be a serial number stamped on the card (ex: 1/49 or 2/49)
