Season ticket holder since 1983, except for three and a half years I lived down South and the final year of the Craig Littlepage disaster. My Dad started taking me to games in 1976. Can’t believe I am one day before the cutoff date and still can’t make up my mind. It isn’t just about this past season. It is ticket prices, not being able to make weeknight games due to work, being sick of November and December games against Maine Tech, Bates, Drexel, Southern Indiana, etc. It is about recruiting, both high school and transfers, that has fallen off a cliff. It is about knowing there are schools like BYU , Duke, UNC, etc. that can probably pay one player more than we can raise for a whole team. It is about whatever may have happened with Hobbs and the gymnastics coach. And being in month nine without a permanent AD. Not to mention, who knows how much the new President of Rutgers will back our sports. Eddie Jordan was a joke as a coach and Coach Pike has certainly elevated the program, but after a decade, we should be higher in the Big Ten than we are . I am afraid we are regressing, not just in win totals, but as a program. Rutgers has called me, sent a letter, and emailed me five or six times about my delay in renewing. Through all the horrible decades, through all the terrible coaches like Littlepage, Hill, Jordan, etc., the last time I spent this much time thinking it over was Littlepage’s last year. Over a decade into Big Ten membership, I still don’t think the university fully grasps what it takes to compete, and not just participate, in big time sports.

Individual ticket will be cheap by mid-December 2025.

Ummmm.............it sounds like you've made your decision already. You've been a loyal son. Sounds like you are now ready for ticket retirement.

My friend has two excellent seats and came up with the solution of splitting his seats three ways. This way he preserves the seats and get to go to a few games.

So I’m a guy who is actually getting season tix (partial) for the first time in a very long time. Hopefully it works out!

Those that have had tickets for many many years are probably retired and I think the decision to renew is one you have to make every year due to finances and is more than wins or losses. Of course the NIL stuff plays a part for those that loved college sports . If it depended on coaches and wins vs losses that decision would have been made years ago.

I have renewed because I like watching college basketball even though players are now getting paid. The Rutgers basketball program clearly is trending downward without the finances and talent to have any relevance in the B1G Ten.Bottom line its difficult being a season ticket holder knowing the team on the court next season might be no better than 16th in the B1G Ten.The RAC facility is out dated and the basketball program lacks accountability.

I can't decide either.

I'm pissed they made the deadline tomorrow when we don't have a full roster or a schedule.

I'm pissed at them lazily adding a kid so an assistant coach can do his buddy a favor.

I'm over the roster rebuilds. And I'm already tired of it always being in the back of my mind that any kid who succeeds here is just gonna get paid somewhere else the following season.

I'm annoyed that Pike didn't shake up his staff. I'm annoyed he's not embracing a true GM.

I'm also pissed that parking is $30 per game still.

I feel like by renewing, I'm not holding this program accountable. Not that it should be on me, but because of the clown show that is Rutgers, Pike will have been without a boss for a year when all is said and done. So I guess it's on the fanbase now.

Reasons for renewing:

It's something to do with my son, who loves going.

Seeing Dylan Grant hopefully take the next step (I'm grasping at straws here).

And the RAC is awesome.

I'm undecided too. I flip flop between probably in and probably out several times per day. But I must admit that when last week I heard the three out of conference games added, I instinctively added them to my calendar. I don't like the auto renew, and I don't like how the success of college sports programs is mainly determined by how wealthy your donor base is (or how many donations you wind up accumulating). But I love Rutgers unlike any other team. It truly is a dilemma.

I’m out unfortunately. It’s a 3hr drive away and I was the last row of the 200s. Rather just buy 100 level to the one or two games I’ll be able to make on seatgeek. Don’t think we have to worry about it being a hot ticket for a while unfortunately.

We're not indestructible
Baby, better get that straight
I think it's unbelievable
How you give into the hands of fate
Some things are worth fighting for
Some feelings never die
I'm not askin' for another chance
I just wanna know why
There's no easy way out
There's no shortcut home
There's no easy way out
Givin' in can't be wrong
I don't wanna pacify you
I don't wanna drag you down
But I'm feelin' like a prisoner
Like a stranger in a no named town
I see all the angry faces
Afraid that could be you and me

Talkin' about what might have been
I'm thinkin' about what it used to be
There's no easy way out
There's no shortcut home
There's no easy way out
Givin' in can't be wrong
Baby, baby, we can shed this skin
We can know how we feel inside
Instead of goin' down an endless road
Not knowin' if we're dead or alive
Some things are worth fightin' for
Some feelings never die
I'm not askin' for another chance
I just wanna know why
There's no easy way out
There's no shortcut home
There's no easy way out
Givin' in, givin' in can't be wrong, no
There's no easy way out
(There's no easy way out)
There's no shortcut home
(There's no shortcut home)
There's no easy way out
(There's no easy, no easy, no easy way out)
There's no easy way out
(There's no easy way out)
There's no shortcut home
(There's no shortcut home)
There's no easy way out
(There's no easy, no easy, no easy way out)
There's no easy way out
There's no shortcut home
There's no easy way out

Started going to the games with my dad during the Hinson days. I finally dumped my season tickets during the Fred Hill error and never looked back. One of the best decisions of my sports fandom life. I avoided so much heartache and garbage.

This is probably one of the better takes and harder truths to grasp that I have read on this message board in quite a long time.

The University has dropped the ball time and time again with athletics going back to the Big East days when programs and the school as whole had chances to take steps forward.

The reasoning and benefits to joining the Big Ten were such small minded perks and benefits just being happy we were invited to the party and waiting patiently like a kid on Christmas for our revenue from the media deals... doing ABSOLUTELY nothing to propel the programs and get them ready to succeed when that happened

I have sat with and walked into football and basketball games next to countless away fans from the Big Ten who often point out Rutgers has a cute little football stadium or a nice high school facility for basketball... and as much as we love the RAC as a fanbase they are not wrong... don't get me started on how ridiculous our football facility is compared to the rest of the league

We just don't have the mindset or wherewithal to be a competitive program... we as bac has pointed out have embraced our role as it exists in all major conferences as a cellar dweller

I caved and renewed 2 of my 3 tickets. I have a buddy I go with and I really do enjoy that time watching RU. Also I was really on the fence so I will use this as my trial year and make a final decision in a year. I’m not saying my decision is some big announcement just putting it out there for those that are still deciding. There’s many good reasons to drop them but ultimately the time spent with my friend won out. For now. Another year of incompetence and I’m out.

I must be out of my mind. Like a Hollywood actor going into rehab for the sixth time, I decided to renew. I am going to have blind faith that we will have a good Athletic Director, a new school President that supports Rutgers sports, and that Coach Pike can find some guys that play great defense so we can go back to winning our cupcake games and eight Big Ten games 52-50 .If the program is where we are now one year from now, the school will have made the decision much easier for me. To some, $825 isn’t a lot of money, but to me it is. Plus I also get football season tickets. I have to see the university display a commitment to winning and not just satisfied with putting a Big Ten logo on a basketball court or football field or baseball field, etc.— Go Rutgers !!!

i am trying to make sure i am doing this correctly i selected that i will renew but it did not prompt me to do anything else including pay? is that all it asked was to acknowledge renewal?

That is all I did.

Lot has to do w location
I’m 5th row with only 1 seat - so for me, it was a no brainer

Team has largely sucked for my lifetime but i enjoy going nonetheless

I’ve decided to sit this one out. It’s not because of Pike or the team’s prospects. It’s because I’ve found myself feeling very disconnected from the team because it’s an entirely new group of players every season. I liked college basketball because you could watch kids come in as freshmen and develop into fine players over 4 years. You felt like you watched the kids grow up. Now, you look at the court and you’re lucky if you recognize more than 2 players. At this point I’d rather watch the NBA where I know the players and am not being asked to pay them outside of the tickets I buy.
