I'm going. Staying at
the Marriott.

My wife may not come. If the tourney was to be in downtown in Chicago, she
probably would come, but thinks she doesn't wants to partake of an endless stream of
games in the middle of a distant suburb.

My wife and I will attend, staying at Hyatt Place. Questions; Is all seating general admission, Will there be a Rutgers fans get together?

We ordered tickets through Rutgers and if it's done like the Big East and AAC tournaments in the past, all RU fans receive tickets in the same section. We are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn in Hofman Estates.

Did you call in to your rep' to order tickets? I don't see an online ordering option on ScarletKights.com.

I'm going. MK is babysitting me. Great person! We're flying Southwest and staying at LaQuinta. She found really good rates there. I usually stay at Hampton or Hilton Garden but at least one night is under $60. And I have reserved a handicap room!

Nowhere else (other than WCBB) can you get to see all those games for the price. I think those non RU games are fun to watch.

I was worried because I hadn't received my tickets so I called the ticket office Wednesday and was told they would be mailed next week. They waited to give those with good standing the priority seating they earned. Expect 67 to be sitting pretty.

I am disappointed we are spread out in our hotels. So far we've got Holiday Inn, Marriott, Hilton Garden, and LaQuinta. I hope we can all have dinner (or lunch or drinks or ...) maybe before or after our first win??? Our championship win??? By then we should have the lay of the land.

Warning: I am also planning to attend the NCAA regionals, after, of course, winning our home rounds. Must do this while I still can.

Yes. We asked for info on tickets and ordered through the Ticket Office. I also believe an email went out about 2 weeks ago I actually got an email today that the tickets have arrived and will be distributed soon.

I'm thinking about going. My sister goes to Roosevelt University in downtown Chicago and I haven't visited since she arrived so I'm thinking of making a road trip out there

Hopefully Cappie will be there! On another thread, it was noted that she has been traded to the Chicago WNBA team.

Distance is relative. Its all "Chicagoland".

The company I worked for had many motion picture theatres in the Chicagoland area and, IIRC, I certainly drove through Hoffman Estates. We had theatres in nearby Shaumburg, Rolling Meadows and I think Barrington. We also had theatres downtown (including near Roosevelt College, the "Fine Arts") and as far south as Merrillville, IN.

I'm with Cyn38 at the LaQuinta. I'm a little in shock. I got my tickets today and they are general admission. When Rutgers is playing, we can sit behind our bench, otherwise first come first serve.--no reserved seating. Along with the tickets, you get a wristband with Rutgers on it which allows you to sit behind the bench when we play. I'm assuming based on the letter with the tickets that all seats are general admission. I guess we'll be getting there early!

GO RU!

skw, I also got this with the Rutgers wrist band, I do not like this, it is the first time I have encountered this. If this is the way it is in the Big Ten, I will not attend next year. I like assigned seats and I am not happy with this garbage. Will attend this year because I have flights booked but I would have bagged it because of this garbage.

What is wrong with general seating? Judging by past BIGW Tournaments, you can probably have entire rows or even sections for yourself. Seems to be a greatvway to meet people and experience views from different angles and locations.

I'm going with a bunch of Cagers and we're staying at the Holiday Inn Express a few miles from the arena. I received my tickets yesterday via UPS, placed in my driveway between two garage doors and ready to blow away in the breeze like my garbage can did the day before. Why UPS could not have placed this important package inside my screen door is a mystery. I am not too worried about general admission seats because our group gets there early, and, hopefully, we will be attending games for two days before RU has to play. But those wristbands are a joke. How are we supposed to get them off and put them on again the next day when they are made of paper? Are they showerproof? Can I get in with my Fit Bit instead, since I wear that on my wrist all of the time (at least it is rubber and can withstand the water)? Seems like a decent idea but poorly executed. Make them rubber and we'll gladly wear them because we can take them off and out them on again the next day.

Douglass72 - I was worried about my tickets getting lost since I'm away and have stopped our mail. I made arrangements (I hope) with the Ticket Office to pick the tickets up either at the Womens Indiana game or Mens game on Tuesday. Hope this works out or I may ask to borrow your FitBit!

Thanks hinson32--I guess this tournament isn't a sell out so I won't worry about ending up in the upper level! And at least we don't have to listen to "UCONN UCONN UCONN" at this tournament-that's a big plus.

As far as the wristbands go-just put it on loose enough so you can get it off your hand to take it off. I dont think they are meant to wear 24/7!

GO RU!

I, too, found my tickets in an out-of-the-way place on my driveway! Not by my front door.

Not a fan of general admission. Wonder where we'll be sitting for the non-RU games. Will have to get there early, I guess. And who is reserving what seats??? Arena ushers?

So glad so many of us are going. Am bringing my big voice.

Arena seats 11,000. ( I think 10,000 for hoops)
BIGW Tournament sessions have averaged "announced" crowds of around 6000
Actual fans per session seems to be around 2500-3500

Hi - longtime Michigan WBB fan here and B1G Tourney veteran of 17 of the last 18. For those of you who are concerned about seating, I don't think you have any reason to be.

A certain number of rows will be reserved directly behind each team's bench for the wristband holders. The ushers monitor those rows. Everything else is GA, and there will be plenty of room to spread out and sit with fellow fans in other areas when your team's not playing.

The B1G used to assign seats based on the number of tickets sold by each team. For all of the years in Indy, that meant Purdue always had a big section in the center and those of us with smaller traveling fan bases would be stuck in the corners. I much prefer the new process as it allows fans to flow in and out of some of the better seats as different games are played. It didn't make much sense to have large sections of the arena unused when a team lost, and its fans went home.

Lastly, pretty much everyone hated the Sears Centre two years ago, and I know several fans across the conference who refuse to go this year. It's a multi-purpose arena that's poor for basketball and out in the middle of nowhere. I don't know what to expect with Rutgers and Maryland fans in the mix, but I would think attendance would be way down from previous years. Indy is a fabulous place to see a B1G Tourney, so I hope you can get out next year. With an arena built specifically for BB right in the heart of downtown with shopping, museums and restaurants within walking distance, Indy knows how to do things right.

Thanks Michigan fan. See you there. We'll be dressed in Scarlet. Will look for you in Blue and Gold??? We're just learning our new conference.

You're welcome. Our secondary color, Maize, is yellow. The gold schools are Iowa and Minnesota and the "old gold" of Purdue.

Good luck at the Tourney.

Final Regular Season Standings we finish 5th. We play the winner of Wednesday's Indiana-PSU game on Thursday afternoon.

The bracket is linked

we are actually in a good spot...we finish 5 which sucks in and of itself but it means we get a game against either indiana or psu whichh should mean another win and then another shot at northwestern, win those two and we have pretty much a free shot at mayland to get a good seed

Well I will not be going. Had to cancel hotel and airline reservations. I have bronchitis and a touch of pneumonia. If I had waited one more day I would probably be hospitalized.

I have a pair of tickets that I got through Rutgers and they are free for anyone that wants them.

Would be nice if some of you fans going to the tourney would bring back a few souvenirs for Scarletwoman. This is one of the team's most loyal and dedicated and generous fans, and she has had a truly crappy several months. Thanks in advance for bringing her some much-needed sunshine from the Midwest.

Thank you Mom, I have been feeling sorry for myself all day after cancelling my trip and missing this tourney, it is our first one in the B1G. You know I like to go to all of them. The only thing I would like is a B1G button of the tourney. You know how I like my buttons. If RUClass67 can pick one up for me I will pay him back.

Will try to get some tournament related stuff for you SW. So sorry you won't be there!! We will miss you.

BTW - we were originally scheduled to fly out early Thursday AM (I was assuming the double bye). But with the weather threat of snow Thursday, we changed to leave on Weds afternoon. United was kind enough to waive the change fee!

The pep band and cheer leaders will be rolling out of the RAC around 7am tomorrow for our 16 hours bus ride, we will be staying at the Sonesta Suites. We're ready to bring our A game and show the other pep bands why Jersey is better.

Now there's another great reason to go! Looking forward to it bigtime now. Glad I'm not on the bus, or am I? Might be fun with all youze guys.

We did the drive out to Detroit separated into our own sections and with plenty of space now we're gonna be crammed in much tighter and a much longer ride. I'd take flying any day over busing no matter how much I love the band.

SW: I'm so sorry to hear that you're still sick and unable to make the trip, but I'm glad that you're avoiding the hospital. Please get well soon !!!
