Ref had nothing to do with it, Josh.

Anthony was too careless on top.
Not to mention he laid on bottom for over a minute in the 3rd period.

Unfortunately Ashnault is our only true "Elite" wrestler right now. Not that someone cannot make a run but only one that can compete night in night out consistently and is not up and down. Looks like Perrotti sucked s lot of weight and was drained but that is pure speculation but looked more like the AP of the beginning of ofvthe year then the end.

welp,... welcome to the B1G. This is exactly what I was afraid of going into the first round, that RU would get swept (other than Ash who had an easy first opponent) in their first matches.

McCabe - has spunk, but is nowhere near good enough

Del - I've been saying this all year...he is not strong enough. He needs a RS to get stronger in order to compete in B1G. He was simply overpowered on his 3 deep takedown attempts in the 1st period...then gassed against the stronger opponent...and gave up a late takedown to lose. This match was not a talent gap...this was a strength gap.

AA - thank god he came to RU

Theo - his road after the bye is very very tough

AP - too cocky on top. He needed to allow the escapes when in bad positions. Got reversed 3 times instead. Played right in his opponents only strength and paid the price. Not smart at all.

165-197 - not expecting much. Hope Buk proves me wrong.

Smith - too passive and too nice all year, and all his career at RU. Can that really change now? We shall see soon enough.

2min riding. Gives up reversal. Nice gramby roll reversal. Just too little.8-2 now after takedown.

Hard to make a judgment right now, IMO, as McCabe, Delvecchio and Visicaro weren't exactly favorites going into their matches.

At least we avoid a goose egg. Hope we at least beat Maryland and don't finish last!

Phil is very limited on his feet in terms of offensive ability. Just doesn't have the game in that regard.

AP needs to develop another move from bottom other than that leg turk. When it works, it's great, but if an opponent knows it's coming than he's screwed. Yeah, Frey is good on top, but I think AP could have done a lot more to get out. He also didn't seem to have any sense of urgency to get out. Maybe it's the weight cut, idk. Very frustrating to watch!

Pafumi tries hard but loses 11 to 3. Getting tilted twice for 6 pts in second was huge scouting error. Pafumi should have taken standing. I like his fight just outmatched.

Awesome job, Hayden.

When the kid is on, he is dangerous.
