Less reliable than throwing chicken bones on the floor. At least the chicken bones aren't prejudiced.

Predictably, zero respect.
Jerry Palm doesn't have RU in a bowl.
Doesn't have Maryland or Indiana in one, either, but he has State Penn playing in the Citrus Bowl on New Year's Day. The list of people who need to be shut up continues to grown.

Still waiting for RU to start shutting people up, lol. Too funny.

The guy is basically predicting RU to finish 5th or worse in the B1G East. Not really all that outlandish. Michigan has a ton of talent and now has a pretty good coach. PSU - still probably a year away for their talent, but a very favorable schedule. Ohio State, MSU, well...

Won 8 games last year versus predictions of 3 wins.

If RU makes a bowl this year, Flood deserves a huge raise in salary and another extension. There are so many question marks on this team that winning 6 or 7 games should make him the coach of the year in the B1G. Our schedule is brutal, tougher than last year. And with few exceptions, our opponents will be improved.

Not true at all. Its probably easier than last year. Take last years team and give them this years schedule, and I expect at least 7 wins still, but with fewer close wins, and more close losses.

The big difference is that there are alot of question marks.

Ill stick by my prediction 6-6, Fort Worth Bowl.

Winning 6-7 games in the B1G does not get you B1G coach of the year. That goes for any other Power 5 team. This isn't Pop Warner

Penn St should be favorite in a minimum of 8 games w their OOC /and cross over schedule.

RU will probably be favored in 5.

At least five. I would say the four OOC plus MD and maybe Indiana, unless our season goes much worse than I think, or one of them is much better. Could also be favored in PSU or Michigan, but probably not.

disagree 100% our schedule is probably a bit easier. And aside from Indiana, every team we face appears to have gotten slightly worse or has stayed the same. The question is did WE get worse, better or stay the same? Time will tell

First, who the heck cares about predictions - meaningless drivel.

Second, for those who do care, we will continue to be dissed in pre-season prognostications until we actual win a few upsets in the B1G or win something that anyone cares about or how about even getting to a single bowl game anyone cares about. If we start doing that, then I have a sense that those who care about predictions and care about RU will begin to see some forecasts that make them happy.

Meh. This exact same thread appears every year. With the same predictions. With the same replies.

Time is a circle.

You could say the same thing for probably 8 other coaches in the conference. 10 games yes. 6 which puts you at a .500 level absolutely No

Look, I couldn't care less what you felt was the criteria that Flood would have to fulfill before you're willing to give Julie your permission to sign him on for more money. What I was getting at is that Flood is putting in more wins than what his contract is paying out. I'm basing that on the market that's set by what other schools are paying their coaches. I'm not suggesting Flood get a raise, but it doesn't change the fact that we're paying Flood dirt compared to what coaches are making to coach in the B1G.

He's still outperforming his contract even if he did win just 6 games.

No No No No No No No.....NO!

God help our fan base.

Zero chance we will be favored at PSU or at Mich

Look, where did I say anything about his salary? I didn't. I said he won't win B1G coach of the year with 6-7 wins.If you think he does, good luck believing that

Beating Norfolk State, Washington State, Kansas, Indiana on road, Army and Maryland gets you a 'huge raise in salary and another extension'???? Time to raise expectations boys

Good point. I'd put the game against Coach Hype in that category too.
Except for the fact we have to go to Deliverance country, beating Maryland would be a better win.

It got Franklin the job and a 5 million salary at PSU.

Good effort doesn't get you a trophy.

I'm pretty sure our Vegas over/under odds for wins is 5. Last season we exceeded the odds, hoping we do same this season. Need a QB to step up and young CBs to mature quick. I can't wait for the season to start !

I just "love" this logic. Whose fault is it that there are so many question marks?

I didn't expect so many folks to take my coach of the year comment literally. I see very few automatic wins on our schedule including WSU. They will come in with a chip on their shoulder and their offense could tear up our defense given the inexperience in our D backfield. Maryland will also be keyed up against us given the outcome of last year's game. Michigan at Michigan is a loss this year. I have us down for 5-7 unless like I said, coach Flood pulls the coaching job of the century (again not meant literally) and upsets one or two of the power programs.

Time to put the thinking cap on if it's hard to understand what I was getting at. I don't think we need to go and offer Flood money, personally I'm not sold that he's the right man for the job... but be that as it may, he's still underpaid for a big 10 coach.

I agree there isn't too many easy games except the 3 OOC games. However, the D backfield problem is due to recruiting. Flood has been the recruiter for 3 years of the 4.5 years of recruits. Now you see when the depth is important and getting so many 2 stars don't work out, I mention before that we have depth problems in a couple of positions which means if a starter goes down we are in trouble.

No, going 24-15 (with wins over Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri, Auburn, Ole Miss) with a team that went 4-20 the two years prior to his arrival did
Please don't throw out storied names in hopes of us being impressed. In those three years with all those "big wins" I think he beat 3 SEC teams with winning records and only 2 had winning in conference records. Georgia in 2013 was the only good win and they had some major injuries if I recall. Of those SEC wins the teams had a combines record of 47-64....damn Florida even lost to a 1AA team. Auburn was 3-9 that year and Mizzou 5-7
