Charlie Strong confirmed redshirt freshman backup WR Kai Locksley has decided to transfer. The former ESPN 300 recruit moved from QB to WR in August but never played in a game. Strong said Locksley made the decision to transfer about a month ago.

Long offer list:

His father is Mike Locksley, who was OC at Maryland and his recruiting contact when he decided to go to Texas.

Go get him Ash!!

Sounds like he has a hard time dealing with rejection:

During the spring, he was vocal on Twitter about his lack of playing time during the Orange and White game, even though head coach Charlie Strong planned on giving him some snaps in the second half before having to cancel the final two quarters because of rain the area.

After that outburst and reports that the Maryland product was out of favor with the coaching staff, Locksley opted to follow fellow former quarterback Jerrod Heard in making a move to wide receiver during fall camp.

Do we have any big donors with extra bags of money hanging around? It works for the sec.

His father had some major anger issue also. I would think Rutgers fan would have learned by now that transfer QBs are not solution. How many have to be failures to realize that chances are it not going to work. There is a reason why he moved to wide receiver.

He is not coming here unless he is going to start. The second he is benched or doesn't win the starting job, he will look to transfer before taking a single class.

In other words, no.

Could be some interesting situations arising from a setup like that.

Son: "Dad, can I have some money to go buy a new iPhone?"

Dad: "Sorry, son. I'm afraid that would be a recruiting violation."

Well, we need WRs BADLY too.

I'm not against taking QB transfers, but not after they have been switched to WR. QB is going to be a fun position to monitor this offseason. It's going to be transfers galore.
