Cliff hasn’t shot 50% from the field since the Bucknell game on December 23rd. That’s 7 straight games. Can anyone find someone who’s 6’11 and that athletic and cant shoot 50% on basically all paint shots?

I love the kid but he is NOT NBA ready. His offensive moves and shots aren’t there yet. He needs to learn how to finish.

I still believe he needs to use the glass more. He misses so many shots from close in. If not a dunk his shots seem short too often even from close in. Find a spot on the backboard and use it can’t be any worse. Maybe he does practice this and still has no sucesss. I don’t know.

It doesn’t matter. He misses too many bunnies in close.
Those are not bunnies. Cliff dunks bunnies. He is a face up player, not a post up guy. He should turn and drive for the layup. His baby hook is flat because he palms the ball.

They’re bunnies. Dunks are NOT bunnies. All those alligator shots he makes inside 4 feet and misses are bunnies.

Bunnies are for guys that can’t dunk. Posting up another center around the basket are not bunnies.

Cliff needs to learn how to use the backboard. Period. You can’t line drive or dunk all shots from the inside. Especially not in the NBA.

Cliff works on shooting off the box and refining his inside moves and he averages 20pts/game. This is holding him back from getting the ball consistently feed to him on the block when team mates know he has low percentage shots.

One more thing: Cliff needs to stop taking three pt shots. Not worth a 1 make per 25 shots. It’s a wasted possession.

The shooting was putrid after the first 15 mins. MSU made plenty of shots to win but RU did not sustain average shooting to make the game close.

Oh well, being a ranked team for a handful of days should give our guys a better understanding of the difference between being the hunter and the hunted.

Wash this loss off and get ready for the next game.

its hard to criticize 12 and 12 and if other players showed up with their shots or defense it would be more than enough

yet he cannot make anything that isnt a dunk or total lay in

Needs to just keep moving towards the basket…he had one okay going to the basket and just laid it in…needs to do that more with his athleticism. Stop with all the baby hooks and back to the basket shots. PM should show him some post moves

They all can dunk. You should know the difference between dunks and bunnies. IMO Hyatt and Mag are kings of the missed bunnies.
You should know the difference between dunking in games vs practice.

He is a big part of us being very good- but his shooting is also what holds us bavck- he has at least 2 shots each game that should be automatic under the basket and he needs to develop a 10-15 ft shot.
He also has 1-3 rebounds he misses because of either strength or just - “it is my f-ing ball”

It's silly to think Cliff is any part of the problem.
Despite the ranking, we were the underdogs in this game.
They hit 10 more 3's than we did.
They have a bunch of good offensive players, we don't.
Margin for error in a game like that is near zero.
Tip your cap and move on.
We're really good.

I’m willing to bet the house no opposing player will question Cliff’s strength. He gets so much attention that frees up others. If he had that 10-15 footer, he is top 5 pick in the NBA.

Hes a good kid but he has a lot of work to do. I think the nba talk coming into this season was premature. Hes still super raw and hasnt played the sport all that long

It’s almost like he forgets how big he is because of how athletic he also is.

This. He needs to use his athleticism more and stop pretending he's a big slow old school center. He should bang bang then use his quickness length and athleticism to get around his defender like he did on that play. Cliff just so easily takes two long steps and reach and lays it in

Top five with consistent 5-8 footer.

This may be a hot take. Not only is he not NBA ready he just isnt a legit NBA player. He has 0 offense outside of dunking the basketball and that will not translate well

He needs to work on his hands, moving his feet and envision his hand going through the net on those 10 and 15 footers.
