Super proud of Corey and am incredibly happy for him. His team lost but it appears statistically he had a really clean and well rounded games.

Guards are a dime a dozen in college especially if you are small in height and not a great outside shooter.

Long 2s are the worst shot in basketball today. NBA offense is about getting to the rim and making 3s. A guard who can't shoot isn't going to stick unless he's a Russell Westbrook level athlete.

It's probably coming. NBA players are shooting 3s from farther and farther away. Damian Lillard practices long 3s now. And he makes them in games.

In half seriousness......will there be a point in time where some people will get turned off that the NBA (and college not far behind) has become a 3 point shooting contest with all the ridiculous long range shots being taken.

Last year I watched a quarter of an NBA finals game and every possession it seemed had a moving pick and a bad long range shot (that kept going in).

I am curious if anyone gets a little turned off how the game has evolved?

If a "bad long range shot" keeps going in, is it really a "bad long range shot"?

I'm always intrigued by the college basketball fans who say "I can't stand the NBA. They keep making all these shots!"

We can only dream of a day when the biggest criticism of RU basketball is that the shooting is too good.

So people are basically saying that the NBA is unwatchable because the players are so skilled that they make shots? I'd much rather watch the NBA. Even good college teams struggle to run a decent pick and roll, shoot the ball consistently well, or execute basic half court sets.

His comment was intended to be a generality, but was likely directed more specifically at Greene, who was never popular at Syracuse. He was supposed to be the second Carmelo Anthony, one of the nations top recruits and even taller than Carmelo and a better shooter (so-called). They said he was 6-11 when they announced his height.

While having a fun likeable personality, Greene was a terrible ball hog and gunner. He was the tallest starter on the team, but he just stayed on the perimeter and shot 3-pointers, again and again. Once Big East play started, they stopped going in, but he never stopped shooting them. Syracuse lost game-after-game and missed the NCAA, and then Greene was gone - off to a mediocre NBA career.

Well over 40% of Villanova's field goal attempts are 3 pointers, and they're not even in the NBA.

There’s a middle ground between no shot clock Dean Smith 4 corners and stalling nonsense and a clogged paint area and just coming down court with a 24 second shot clock and doing nothing but jacking up 35 footers.

To me, it’s a lot like the evolution of major league baseball in the last 50 years. I don’t think I would’ve enjoyed 1967-68 MLB with a .301 batting champ and ERAs in 1’s nor do find it compelling to watch guys doing nothing but swing for the fences today. Yeah, there’s more scoring but it doesn’t make it more entertaining.
