CVS goes off in presser on Maori Davenport situation

Well said, Coach. Great job. This young lady has done nothing to deserve this type of treatment.

Good. You could see she wanted to say even more. This is really gaining some tracking nationally on social media also. I hope this bafoon high school tough guy on the Alabama HS board puts his ego aside and does the right thing - he’s alone on his side, not another player or coach in the league is asking for her to be suspended

There are so many people supporting her it's amazing. I read for 2 straight hours last night and I'm sure there is more up today. Jay Bilas is the heavy hitter from ESPN with a petition with thousands of signatures. Deb Antonelli, and Mechelle Voepel as well. The president of the WNBA, and Very Important famous non sports folks as well.
This article sums up much of it.

I'm a member of the NC High School Athletic Association, it's not one person, but a board of coaches, athletic directors, principals, and community leaders that have made this decision. This course of action is a cross session of the views of the state of Alabama. Now, that is sad.

That is what the above link I posted conveys, it is the entire country that is involved in this now from not just athletic big wigs. I believe, and may be wrong that they will have to overturn the ruling of the Alabama bigots. Just my 2 cents.

Another thought, where is Hobbs(Rutgers University AD)? CVS should let him deal with all this national attention. She needs to keep her focus solely on the upcoming games.

He’s too busy sitting in his new section at the Men’s game. He’ll respond once the men’s basketball season is over

Just another data point confirming what a pathetic state it is.

CVS is a HOF coach and one of the most respected coaches in the nation. Her word helps a lot more than Hobb’s. Plus, it shows recruits she will fight for her girls.

Jay Bilas discussed this with his broadcasting partner during the Alabama / Kentucky mens basketball game yesterday on national television. He is one of the biggest advocates for student athletes and their rights.

This. All in all much better for CVS to weigh in than Hobbs. (I mean, it wouldn't hurt if he did, too, but she's much more important in context.)

Vivian weighing in is a big plus showing the RU WBB HC speaks up for her players, those on the roster and those about to enter it.
But Hobbs could show the Athletic Department will fight for every deserving RU Athlete whether they are coming in or already there.

I disagree, still think Hobbs if he is still around needs to take care of some of the PR stuff. CVS said her piece, and has been quoted all over the press Believe me she has plenty of contacts all over this country that have taken up Maori's cause. JMHO.

I think there's a conspiracy here:

Who actually ordered and sent the check? Are they connected in any way with any school that Marori helped beat in winning the State Championship? Who else received a check? What is the makeup of the Alabama HS commission:i.e. men. women, black , white, affiliations with which High School teams?

IMO there's more here than a simple SANFU....it's a set up to discredit her, take away some of her skills and weaken the national rankings of someone who may have wanted out of Alabama.

CVS is doing the right thing by taking the lead and becoming an advocate for players...against the establishment (big folks- grown ups).

Hoping she gets Maori's eligibility back this year....and that Maori BRINGS IT big time next season!

Sweet Home Alabama....my @$$~
