I listened to Danny's last coaching show tonight on the radio. He seemed very relaxed and spoke highly of the talent he is returning next year as well as his 4 recruits. I'm sure it was planned in advance that there would be nothing asked about his possibly considering RU. He claimed that RI has the best talent of any team in the Atlantic 10 going into next season. Three of his recruits are 6'8", 6'9" and 6'10" and the fourth is a 6"4" shooting guard. One of the big guys is from The Patrick School (St. Pat's of Elizabeth). I hope that we can hear soon who will be our new coach.

Kinda sounds like a guy coming back to make a run at the NCAA to get a big job OR, a guy making a case that he is leaving Rhode Island with a lot talent so he can leave and not feel bad.

Did he speak highly of the talent "he" has returning or the talent " Rhode Island" has returning??

You could take it either way. I think it's the latter.

I think it's Hurley !!!!

I hope he can make a late run at Tauren (sp) Thompson, the former St. Anthony's player and sign him in the spring. He should also look to steal 2017 St. Anthony's player Daniel Mading that committed to his brother Bobby and ASU.

No questions on RU sounds planned. If he wasn't coming, he'd have been asked about it so he could deny it and put rumours to rest.

The URI athletic department produces the show and it's hosted by their radio announcers. Did Carlin ask Flood about possibly getting fired on Flood's show? There's no way topics like that get taken on during shows that are propaganda pieces for athletic department.

I agree that on such shows, you do what's best for the program. Hence, if the coach might be being fired, you don't bring it up. But the analogue is, if the coach is not taking the other job, you give him the chance to put those rumours to rest. If he is likely to take the job, you don't bring it up.

If there is a good chance he's leaving, you don't mention it. If there is no chance he is leaving, but people are wondering, you put it to rest.
