Pikiell and his staff have shown they can coach.
They have not yet shown they can recruit.
Now, they have not been on the job long at all, and it can take time to gain momentum in recruiting, particularly here given RU MBB's history. So there is no meaningful track record on which to conclude that Pikiell and the staff are not going to be able to recruit.
But the reverse is true too. It's very hard to recruit well enough to compete in a top BB conference, even for good coaches. The recruiting competition is fierce. And it doesn't always follow that a good coach will also ultimately recruit well. So I understand being concerned that, while players are leaving, even players that aren't good, new B10 level one's aren't arriving. Now, those recruits may arrive soon (though recruiting for key players in the summer is no way to survive long term) or they may start arriving in a year or two. But until they start arriving, it's perfectly reasonable to be uncertIn about whether they ever will.
