OK, was watching some of the Pitt-Maryland game, part of the ACC-B1G challenge. If I had just returned from a 5-year stint at the International Space Station and the announcer noted that the game was part of the ACC-B1G challenge, would have assumed the B1G had finally accepted Pitt. Makes great sense geographically.
Pitt in the ACC?? Maryland in the B1G?? But-but-but--when I took the shuttle up to the space station, wasn't Pittsburgh a couple of hundred miles WEST of College Park? Yes, my old Nat Geo Atlas confirms it. So UM, a couple of hundred miles east of Pittsburgh goes to the B1G which is largely a midwest conference and Pitt goes to the ACC which is dominated by states on the east coast. Makes perfect sense. More changes to come?
