Flood is completely broken

Def looks sad and broken as if he was tearing up in a bathroom stall before the presser.

He can only blame his own ego.

Imagine if he had shocked us all by starting Rettig today. He could have. It would have been a win-win. Either Rettig plays well, and Flood gets lauded for trying something different. Or he plays poorly, and Flood is vindicated. Unfortunately, Flood is incapable of escaping his own stubborn thinking, and it'll be his downfall.

Looks like the Nelson injury has him extra wired. Shades of EL. Hamilton was crying on TV. Seems like when a season goes bad its not just losses but other bad karma things erupt.

Or maybe the realization that he is horrible at his job is finally settling in.

It isn't losing. I think we all can take that now, if not accept it. It is how we lose and the moronic play and in game decisions we see. That is ALL on the head coach.

Playing Laviano @ QB after all this is just an FU to the fan base at this point, on his way out the door.

It is clear from this press conference that even he doesn't believe what he is shoveling anymore. Poor kids. They have to put up with it daily.

Hard to watch that.

Yeah, I do not want him to be our coach anymore, but that doesn't mean he's a horrible person. He made mistakes, which led to his 3 game suspension. He obviously wants us to succeed, and you can tell by the video how much this loss was affecting him. I think he has bad decision making skills for a B1G head coach, but that aside, he is a great guy. He's done a lot for our community and seems to really care for his players.

Why, the kids gonna be fine, thank God.
This guy knows he can't get it done, it's difficult for him

I think he's gone, but this was all about Derrick and thinking about what happened to Eric. Nobody ever wanted to relive through that again.

That was actually a good press conference by flood. Hate on him all you want for his on field calls but he handles himself well with the press.

I would agree, he is good with the press.

Today was about his will. Up until this point I would say he was confident, even if no one else was. Today it changed. His coaching spirit was gone.

We expect all of our coaches to be good people. Flood being a good person doesn't excuse him from being a simply horrible coach. Don't feel sorry for him. He's been over paid for four years now, earning far more than most of us will in a lifew time. He needs to be gone now.

Unfortunately this is the one reason he has had the job for so long.

Unbelievable, some of the people here actually feel sorry for this loser! I don't really care about his personal feelings, or that he is showing to be a broken coach. He alone has put this program into the :flush:. I'm disgusted as an Alumnus, it is clear that finally after 150+ years of less than mediocrity we had something to be proud of, thank you Schiano! But, in just a few short years, because of plain incompetence and a sprinkling of arrogance, we are again a National laughingstock.
I always thought that Schiano built the program, but that we needed someone else to take us to the next level. Then we get Flood, and the Dam broke. As I sit here drowning in a sea of ridicule, it is plain to me that "Mr." Flood does not deserve my sympathy.
If you want to feel pity, compassion, let it be for all the young athletes in our program he has deceived. Or put in a position where they themselves could not succeed, due mostly to the inabilities of a lame duck coach, and I use the title of "coach," with great reluctance.
Fire the guy, now!

He did seem a little more resigned to his fate and the normal optimism and need to move on while still there, was stated with less conviction. Not sure he even believes the canned coach speak anymore regarding his program.
