Corey Sanders is as proud of an RU alum as anyone - I didn’t know he stays up in the middle of the night to watch our games from Poland where he plays … he has tried but hasn’t been back to the RAC yet for a game with his pro schedule, when he does we need to give him a massive welcome back !!

AWESOME ARTICLE !!

“I’m just happy to say I went to Rutgers,” he said. “I came in and did my part and the guys after me came in and changed the whole thing around. I’m so glad Geo came in and did what he did. I’m pretty sure I taught him things along the way. And he took that and taught that to the next guys coming in.

“Every time I watch them, I’m amazed. I’m just so impressed with what Coach Pikiell and those players are doing right now and what they’ve been able to do. I’m just thankful to see that it’s carried on. I think we have one of the best fan bases, one of the best student sections in the world and it shows. When people come into the RAC, they’re terrified. To Rutgers fans, keep being you.”

Thanks, that was a great read.

That was a great read and a great memory. I remember the groan that the crowd made when the Hall went up 13. Everyone was bracing for a blowout. Somehow we got some stops and kept it just close enough.

Nice piece by Fonseca. I love when past players keep the fires burning. Gotta maintain those bonds. #Knighthood

I used to follow Corey on Twitter but he must have changed address because said his account was closed/suspended

What a wonderful article. I am glad Corey is still following RU. He really did lead our turnaround.

Great article. Thank you Corey. My favorite Corey moment was the dunk against Indiana in the Big Ten tournament. You were the one who started our climb. Thanks again!

That was a really good article.

Best of Luck,

That Seton Hall game was magical, the comeback so methodical it played out like a movie. Then the run in the B10 Tournament at MSG was pure bliss. Thank you Corey and the rest of the squad for an amazing year and what I consider the building block of Pikes tenure at RU

Great read Brian! Corey's maturity really shows thru here, reminds me a little of a certain player with the initials QD!

Another great Rutgers Basketball ambassador in the making!

I wasn’t at the 2017 game, but I remember texting my buddies that the RAC seemed like it old self for the first time in years…
