Game of Thrones as always lots of spoilers

I feel horrible for Hodor though. Is the intimation that Hodor's life was taken from the time he was a boy just so that he could serve this one duty to hold the door??

Those brooding Starks, screwing up everybody's life just so they can save the world.

All of that will pay off once she becomes an assassin.

This is like the 1st have of Batman Begins when he is training with the League of Shadows. I am really enjoying Arya's story arc

There's this super long build-up and everyone is eager for her to get on with it already...well, I have a sneaking suspicion that we are not going to like who Arya ultimately assassinates. Would be vintage soul-crushing Martin.

It would be a nice way for the show to introduce Cold Hands aka the Good Whitewalker. They cut him out before, but maybe he can find Bran and help them? It would shock non book readers, since they think all of them are pure evil.

Just a thought.

Wow, just watched. Thoughts and ???'s?

- would having read the books be a help right now? This season seams to be the most "confusing," I guess, to me

- Arya is still "training" until she meets up with her brother(s) and sister?

- Hodor, ugh, what a great scene but rips you apart

- can't wait to see how Little Finger gets killed.

Reading the books is not necessary, but I do find it necessary to read recaps and watch the follow up shows to help remind me of what is happening and put it into context.

I always read Sepinwall's recaps/reviews on Hitflix, to me he's the best TV reviewer in the business. I've been following him since his Sopranos reviews on his old blog and NJ.com. I also watch "After the Thrones" on HBO GO/Now. Andy Greenwald and Chris Ryan (formally of Grantland) do a great job of breaking things down and recapping.

Read Sepinwall as well - former Ledger writer who moved on. Shows along with characters have gotten so complex - recaps are a must!

What's your opinion?

Monday recaps in USA Today are the best. Easy to access online, in the Life section.

The faceless men are complete badasses. I would assume that there are big things in store for Arya which is why they are taking their time to show her transformation.

My thoughts exactly. I think the choice Arya mentioned, while talking to Jacken, is to leave Braavos (and the faceless men) before her training is finished so she can settle some scores. Note her reaction to the actors' portrayal of Ned Stark's beheading. She may say she's "no one", but that performance looks like it flipped a switch in her... to the point where her need for payback, as Arya Stark, is too hard to resist.

The Stark children will reunite eventually, each having gone out into the world to acquire the knowledge and skills they needed to make up a badass team of their own. None of them have the complete skill set alone, but together...

I'm sure some of this is wishful thinking on my part, but I can see it happening.

I see her failing. Her reaction to the play mocking Ned Stark shows she still is Arya Stark.

And that's a good thing. I don't think the intent is for her to complete her faceless man training. She'll get enough of what she needs, then break outta there to handle her business.

Eh, whatever. They're around. More important may be the seeds of mistrust of John Snow planted in Sansa, something the show subtly signaled with a sledgehammer.

Nice catch, willis. You're talking about Little Finger's "half brother" comment, right? I caught that too.

Perhaps Dany, or whomever is ultimately involved with using the dragons to fight the Others. I think the Many Faced God is not aligned with the Lord of Light, and welcomes all the death the Others would bring. And it was revealed by Jaqen that Faceless Men were originally Valyrian slaves. Considering their masters were those who ruled with dragons, I could see a no dragon policy as part of their death cult mission statement.

Some fans have discuss the odds that Dani would either be killed before she ever makes it to the 7 kingdoms, or get there when all hell breaks loose and there would be nothing there for her to rule.

Of course there is the whole 3 heads of the Dragon thing, but that isn't on the show yet. Spoiler: Dani can't win by herself, she can only win with two other leaders fighting with her. Most fans are assuming that John Snow is one of them, and no one can figure out who is the 3rd. It is also not know if they must all be related or not. Many fans assume that they had to be related but GRRM confirmed that he never said they had to be related.

Anyway, that is all Season 7 stuff...

Good stuff. And yes, I agree that Jon is likely one of the two with Dany at the end. Looking forward to his origin being told - we came very close a few weeks ago! No idea who #3 will be.

By the way, it was mentioned several years ago that GOT will end with season 7. But now it seems like that is being reconsidered and will have a season 8. Any updates on this?

Many theories believe Tyrion is the 3rd. The thought is that he was not Tywin's son, but the Mad King's. Targ blood, like Dany & Jon.

Tywin's last words. "You are no son of mine" Literally?

As for seasons 7/8: http://variety.com/2016/tv/news/game-of-thrones-end-date-season-8-1201752746/

Last I heard they plan on extending season 7 and spreading it out over two years less than 10 eps per year. Not sure how I feel about that one.

I saw your question so decided to look it up. She was 1 of 2 women IMDb listed in the credits as being in the troupe. The other actress has been on a number of tv shows for a while so likely is older. Process of elimination says yes but can't be sure.

Her name is Eline Powell. What a smoke show.

So perhaps 8 episodes each? Hmm, why not just do 2 seasons. I guess they want to film everything all at once and complete it.

I've got a way to save Bran. Have him warg into himself that day he was pushed off the tower, and stop him from climbing that day. This way he gets his legs back & can run away from undead Hodor.

Great episode tonight, lots of crazy stuff being set up for the last 3 episodes. And the Hound lives! (P.S. - spoilers). :)

I had a sneaky suspicion the hound survived. Kinda like Uncle Benjen, not dead until you produce a corpse.

I think Marjorie is playing the game like a champ, but what message is she trying to send her grandmother, other than "Get outta here!", that she's still loyal to house Tyrell?

Yeah, any idea what the picture of a rose meant? Other than loyalist to the house. Anything specific.

Also, I think technically Benjen is dead, but the Children turned him into a good dead guy instead of a bad dead guy.

worlds easiest sale: "I'm John Snow. I literally just came back from the dead. I have a giant on my side, now give me your men!"

why is everything so hard for Johnny?...............

Good point re: Benjen

Lol! I was thinking the same thing! This guy comes back from the dead, and they're not falling at his feet?

On a side note, how can you not love little Queen Mormont? She's a little badass. I hope we see more of her.

1st head: Danaerys
2nd head: John Snow
3rd head: Aegon Targaryan (Young Griff)

4th optional head: Viserys comes back as a white walker once the weights get to the dothraki sea after circumventing the wall. Euron Greyjoy will assist them with that with his ships.

I didn't like that the ep was so short but other than that great ep.

There are lots of battles brewing, the last 3 eps this season should be one hell of a ride.

Aegon Targaryan appears to be a fake and he is dying of greyscale, so no.

The Others will never make it that far down, the battle will happen in the North only. Euron is a monster but he is not crazy enough to help zombies sail across the sea, LOL.
