Game of Thrones as always lots of spoilers

I don't know where, or how, but he's taking out the Mountain.

Yeah - there is some unfinished business there.

It looks as if the Mountain is going to have his way with some of the Sparrow's men next week. Really looking forward to that. I wonder if we're ever going to get a look under his helmet and see what the hell he looks like now.

Maybe in the short term but don't you think he'll end up on someone's side in the fight for the throne? Hook up with Arya somehow again? If she survives her wounds that is.

Cleganebowl. Foreshadowed by the conversation where the Hound says he stayed alive due to hate and the gods aren't done with him.

There's going to a lot of candidates for "Worst Person In Westeros" this week. My choice is that obnoxious 10 year old Mormont. Still trying to decide who gets "Worst Week in Westeros" honors.

He wouldn't know that his brother was brought back from the dead.

That is just a fan fantasy due to it appearing to be too easy for the Zombie Mountain to just win like that. He going to lose the trail by combat and she will be sentence to death. With no one left to save her, she may go nuts and burn the whole place down. Killing herself and everyone else with her.

Remember Dani's vision of the Iron Throne, that was snow or ash.

that is my own theory, not a spoiler.

On a related note - I have to say that the tension and anticipation being built up with the Zombie Mountain is some of the best damn TV I think I've ever seen. That scene where Tommen's men stopped Cersei from leaving the keep a few weeks ago was amazing and whenever he clunks into the room I am at the edge of my seat. He's just sitting there waiting for Cersei to say the word.

How does he even know that he's dead? The Mountain died after the Hound left.

I can't think of anyone else that the Mountain could face in a trial by combat that makes sense. Maybe Loras Tyrell?

I can't f'n wait for next week. I choose violence.

Maybe his helmet comes off (by mistake) before the trail and he is expose and she is sentence to death for going against the gods' will or something like that.

It just seems too easy, Zombie Mountain is just too much of a red herring, it just can't be that easy for her to win. It all has to go south somehow. That is my gut feeling.

Very good thought. Quite possible!

Remember the fortune teller.

Cersei: I will be queen, though?
Maggy: Aye. Queen you shall be... until there comes another, younger and more beautiful, to cast you down and take all that you hold dear.
Cersei: Will the king and I have children?
Maggy: Oh, aye. Six-and-ten for him, and three for you. Gold shall be their crowns and gold their shrouds, she said. And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you.

I bet Margaery has Tommen killed and then Jaime kills Cersei.

Anything is possible. After Tommen, who will be King? Is guess whoever takes control/the throne by force.

How long will it be before Arya joins Daneay's small council? (Disclaimer: I haven't seen last knight's episode so it may have already happened) [smoke]

Watch last night's episode. Arya has some stuff to deal with before joining Dany's small council! :)

I agree with your feeling and what you posit (Frankenmountain's helmet coming off) seems like as good a possibility as any to avoid a Trial by Combat that the Mountain would easily win.

Then, I think Cersei goes nuts, tries to blow up the city with the caches of wildfire, just like the mad king. But she is stopped by someone (Jamie...?) and only manages to blow up the Red Keep and/or Sept... Still a major development as many (possibly including Marg, Loras, Mace, High Sparrow) will die.

I kind of assume high sparrow is done, as I don't think Jonathan Pryce would have wanted to do a long term role with the show. I would also assume multiple deaths in King's Landing.

The obvious would be some combo of Cersei, Tommen and the High Sparrow.
The stunner would be Marjorie (everyone's favorite smirking whore) because she seems to be in complete control now that she has convinced the high sparrow that she is on the side of religion.

Ian McShane was very good in last night's 1 night role. Not as epic as his Deadwood headlining role, but still good nevertheless, I was hoping for a longer stint for him.

Yes I think he's done this year as well. He does a great job as the high sparrow. Would have loved to have seen Ian McShane for more then one episode. I wanted to hear more about his bad ass days and see more of him mentoring The Hound.

Episode 8 preview shows Cersei and FrankenMountain confronting Cersei's cousin Lancel Lannister and some other Sparrows. In the preview, Lancel warns Cersei to order her man to step aside or there will be violence, and she answers by saying "I choose violence". Is Cersei going to have FrankenMountain cut down Lancel Lannister in this episode?

The preview also shows Podrick Payne being choked from behind... possibly by a Frey or Lannister assassin?

The Hound is also shown to be swinging/attacking somebody in the preview, and I don't think it's a chicken!

Think about it. 7 episodes to have Jon Snow come back to life and try to gather an army. That's it. That could have happened in 2 episodes. 7 episodes of the many faces guy getting impatient with the Stark girl. He was way more interesting before we got into his house for him to bore us. There's too much stalling, brewing, setting up or whatever you want to call it. I call it a show with fewer ideas than it once had and/or choosing to putter along slowly to stretch out the season. Too large a portion of too many episodes are boring. This isn't high art. It should move way faster and be interesting way more often.

I've got a feeling that wasn't Arya that the girl attacked. Where the F was Needle? She's walking around throwing money around WITHOUT packing? My guess is it was a test for the other girl, which she has now failed.

"One way or another, a face will be added to the collection".

Boring to you. That's your opinion.

It's Game of Thrones, not the Jon Snow Chronicles.

It will be interesting to see just how his sister screws him over. It's going happen imo.

I'm not sure why people think Sansa will screw over John Snow. She needs him - the wildlings will not follow her. Moreover, she has always been all about family...never shown any propensity to double deal. She is out for revenge, and is focused solely on her siblings and taking back winterfell.

"Moreover, she has always been all about family"

She's so much about family that she sold out her pops by blabbing about his plans to Cercei because she wouldn't get to marry Joffrey otherwise. And that was after Joffrey got Arya's friend killed and Cercei had her direwolf put down.

That character is all about herself. I wouldn't be surprised either that she does something stupid to f things up.

It's Game of Thrones, not the Jon Snow Chronicles . . .

True. It's all about the many faces guy and Arya, and their unending boring interactions about the same thing. And the short guy and bald fat guy struggling with the same issue week after week sitting in a different room. And the sparrow guy week after week offering a new prisoner the opportunity to see somebody else they've longed to see for a while, and the blonde girl in the desert still being in the desert either on top of a dragon or not. And then at the end of the season there will be one or two episodes with meaningful things happening so that next season can be filled with 6-8 episodes of "setting things up." And so on. The show has fallen into the traditional formula for these things, and it's dragging to stretch out the material. It's gone from great to good. It happens. So be it.

What? I love that character. She's a little bad ass. Out of all the child rulers/leaders in Westeros, she's the only one who seems to know what the hell she's doing.

I love this theory. Very interesting! But... Arya did tell the ship's captain she wanted to leave at dawn. So, that might explain why she has no luggage.

Lol

You'd be better off watching episode 1, 8, 9, and ten each season. You'd probably be happier and bitch less.

True. Like with most shows I watch that are losing steam, that's likely what I'll end up doing. I hope I don't completely stop watching before the Dragon Lady attacks Kings Landing in episode 9 of season 12.

The latest I read was that there were only going to be two more seasons and that they may not even be 10 episodes. Probably 15 or so after this season.

And as Davos said last week, "The real war is between the living and the dead. And make no mistake, the dead are coming."

Despite a lack of Tyrion, I think that it has been a very strong season.

Saw an interesting theory on the web today. It's that Arya and The Waif are just the two sides of Arya. Like an Edward Norton/Brad Pitt Fight Club thing. When Arya was getting her ass kicked a couple of weeks ago on the street what happened to all the passersby?? Why didn't Arya have Needle with her in this last episode? Where did she get all the cash for the trip if she just came out of the House of Black and White where she had to give up everything? The Waif is really Arya's future self after she completes her training.
Didn't say I liked the theory but it's interesting.
Also have you seen what The Waif looks like in real life?

Like I said a few weeks ago, enough already with Ayra!
At least that storyline is over, she's going back to Westeros. I wonder who will show up to help Snow next week - Littlefinger or the Tully's.
