Holy smokes!!!

I’ve heard there’s mutual interest
Would’t be a bad guy to bring in. Would love to see if his brother Ben could come and get down to 197. He has a lot of skills and would be a very big 197 but hes probably too big.

Weighed about 227-231 at his weigh ins this year. But super tall and figure he will gain a bunch of weight in college. Might be too big a cut to 197 with his already skinny frame

David was a bit of a late bloomer. Sort of came out of nowhere to win states senior year the year Mullen took off. Wouldn’t be surprised if Ben got better in college.

Eh, not sure how well he will hold up with the grind of the B1G as he’s never really wrestled a tough schedule nor does he have any wins over a quality opponent (top 16 as per wrestlestat) as he’s 0-12.

Would prefer Catka if possible.

He’d be a Collucci type if he came here. Just a guy but will keep matches close, could qualify for nationals but unlikely to do damage. Would likely jump a level coming out of redshirt and rolling with Labriola

That won’t move any needles. Maybe it could if we wanted to win a dual vs a mid tier program that didn’t have a hwt.

Obviously not an ideal pickup to be competitive in conference or pickup points at the national tournament, so not sure of the upside here. Hopefully we are shooting for bigger fish first.

Facundo can absolutely win a national title , he’s been stuck behind multiple national champs and a 2x 3rd place finisher but word is Michigan is going to throw a lot of $$ at him, Virginia tech too
In no way shape or form do I see Facundo ever winning a national title, AA, sure. Everything I've been seeing points to Okie st, his ideal weight is 165, at Michigan Mantanona is a redshirt Freshman, one would have to go up.....not saying your wrong because he certainly could end up there but I wouldn't bet on it.

Facundo fits into Crackers' story. I did not doubt that Crackers had heard of guys leaving programs, but I couldn't understand why all (or even some) of them would come to Rutgers. I don't know how they could have made that determination without having Goodale's knowledge and agreement. Maybe Crackers can get half credit for knowing the guys who are leaving. I hope Goodale at least makes contact and expresses interest if there wasn't a prior discussion. It's troubling that Crackers has been absent the forum. Maybe Bill can call him.
Does Facundo fit into his story? Do you put him at Surianos level? I sure as hell don't, at least not yet.

Apparently PSU’s Joe Sealy might be jumping into portal soon too.
Certainly wouldn't be a surprise, kid had a excellent high school career, don't see him cracking the lineup at PSU, would like to see him get a chance somewhere in the Big10.

Sealey obviously has a ton of talent and potential, but in his limited action (only 2 matches) he looked pretty bad for such a heralded recruit. I know he was red shirting and maybe wasn't prepared or in wrestling shape, but in two matches (one against a .500 wrestler this year) but he didn't score an offensive point.

With that being said, I would definitely take him if he's looking to stay close to home and compete in the B1G.
He actually did score a takedown against Illinois, he just had it taken away from him, was a ridiculous call

Up until about a week ago today we felt the same way about Antrell Taylor.

He had zero quality wins this year. Would not push the needle.

I see Shane moving up to 197. Bring Dean in at 184

Dean? Is he an upgrade to SCW? At a time when the roster has to drop wrestlers, I would think it best to only bring in guys who are clear upgrades.

I have heard that Shane might move up to 197. I have heard that we will be getting a 174 who is not in the portal yet that will help us next season. So still need a HWT and either 84 or 197.
Agree that Szuba is not really going to move needle, but we need a HWT. Would like to get Catka.

165- Barbosa/Ford
174- Portal Guy/Barbosa
184-Shane Walsh/Portal Guy
197- AJ Ferarri/Shane Walsh
HWT- Catka
Are we seriously now taking a risk on AJ Ferrari? Who are the other current wrestlers transferring out if we're looking to take 4 transfers in?

If we want to get better, RU needs to work the portal to improve. If we bring in 4 or 5 portal guys(and I do not think we bring that many) to improve the team, so be it. Stinks for some on the team that want to be on the team, but it is pretty easy to figure out 5-10 guys on the roster that pretty much have zero chance to start here. This will happen at many schools, some guys will have to drop down to D-2 or D-3.

I don't know but we need to win. AJ will be in the finals next year. It's only 3 transfers(Ferrari, Catka and the wrestler to be named later). The portal guy can wrestle 174/184.

I'm good with bringing in more elite talent. Ferrari has significant baggage that I wouldn't touch, even with the born again act he's putting on right now.
