Any idea if it is still in place? Is Ash using the program when recruits visit? Just curious, He seems to have changed a lot. I was wondering if the hostesses have been dropped as well? :grimace:

So you don't think Ash has plans to drop the hostesses?

I have no idea. But I think that the mere fact of his wife being the program coordinator at tOSU speaks to how he might feel about such things.

I don't understand all the fuss. I'm sure the hostess program will be scrapped with the new move to more nutritious foods for the players. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I love the animosity toward the hostesses here. Just another example of Rutgers raising the bar on itself to make it even harder to succeed than it already is. Just stop with the holier than thou fantasyland nonsense. There is nothing wrong with some girls showing athletes around the campus during a visit and everyone else does it.

Lets have some success first, then start trying to make it harder on ourselves.

My understanding is that hostesses are volunteers. If they are actually making a difference in recruiting then they are adding value to the program. They should be compensated and in that compensation their duties would be strictly defined to be lawful. If this happened, which would protect the hostesses and the university there wouldn't be the issues with other schools like Tennessee. But then again if the duties of the hostesses were to be lawful the perceived value of the hostess program would be diminished as well.

Hopefully. The whole "hostess" thing has always been sketchy.

So, what you're saying is that only guys should be able to accompany the guys during visits, and only girls should be able to accompany girls?? You do know that's asinine, right? Even during scholastic tours, good looking, personable, charismatic guides are helpful in selling a school, no matter their gender. And if the scholastic tour is mostly high school girls, a handsome guy is often used to accompany them. That goes EVERYWHERE. So stop the condescending nonsense.

You ever go on a job interview and say to yourself, "Man, those dolts don't even have {x}. Everyone has {x}! I'd never work there".

Same-same.

I initially thought the title of this thread was "Hotness Program".

But I wasn't far off as it turns out.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Of course their duties, whether as volunteer or not, are strictly defined to be lawful. Do you actually think we are sending out these girls as volunterrs with the understanding that they provide sex to high school students? Really?? Doing that would be wildly illegal, and I have no idea why you think paying them would change anything.

If you perceive the program to be unlawful, you are letting your own fantasies supplant reality.

I don't know why people can't get it through their heads...maybe its just a middle aged fantasy thing. Repeat after me.... The Hostesses are not prostitutes, they are tour guides. The hostesses are not part of a statutory rape program.

People get that idea because that is what has happened in some places. When discussions on this forum discuss competing with other programs it often includes shady business such as brown bags and jobs for parents. Many in our fan base are on board with that sort of thing.

I don't see the giant sway of commitment that would come from taking a tour of the campus with a girl who you aren't going to touch, but if that service provides value then the hostesses should absolutely be paid.

We definitely will never have a problem with the sexual proclivities of a hostess.

In all seriousness, though, the civilized mind rebels against the idea that an institution of higher learning would be so crass as to make "woman of sufficient hotness" a prerequisite for a tour guide job.

That shouldn't just be hot. Like athletes need to be in shape, so should they.

I'm all for breaking out the scale like Ace Rothstein had to do to keep those girls from France in line who liked to eat to much.
