Pike is an elite defensive college coach, there’s no one better in the country.
His current team lacks the ABILITY to compete defensively.
We will be destroyed on the boards all year and give up wide open 3s with regularity.
No amount of coaching is going to change it.
I don’t think effort has anything to do with it.

Disagree. In spurts against SJU, especially in the first half, they showed they can be a really good defensive team when the effort is there. They’ve been coasting and now it caught up to them. 4 games in 7 days, now we get to see the character of this team.

“Coasting” ?????
If every player was asked to look in the mirror and ask themselves did they give their best effort, no doubt they’d say I need to play better and smarter.
I doubt any of them would say they coasted or didn’t try as hard as they could.
That includes Bailey who I’m sure will admit he was awful, I’m pretty sure he believes he gave his best effort.

He has the talent and pure athleticism to go up and jump and get every rebound. He doesn’t seem like he wants to jump and rebound or block shots which deserves a stern chat with Pike and staff. He doesn’t want to get fouls and it shows. If Ace would rebound and just take it and go , a lot of our defensive rebounding would be solved.

Rebounding isn't just about jumping. It's positioning, angles, physicality, ect. The other team doesn't just step aside, so you can jump high. Most gyms you just run at the rim and jump, you end up on your ass or sent into a wall.

I haven’t seen consistent intensity on D or rebounding. Could be wrong.
