I'm not sure we will ever be successful in Big Ten football

It's all excuses. It doesn't take 5 years to have a decent offense. We had a better offense in Year 1 than we have now.
Year two went bowling.
Greg is a D minded HC and that's one of the problems.
Another problem is the RU OC might be kept from going all out when the game is being played.
I'll start complaining after year 4 , but can understand why some are complaining now.
My 4 year before complaining is because I think Schiano took over a bad team and needs time to improve the program enough to expect it to be a constant winner.
Others seem to think the time is now because the program is in great shape and Greg is holding it back.

Year 3 is certainly time enough to see some improvement on offense even if it's on and off and varies by opponent. But we're seeing an offense that struggles against everyone and it struggled against everyone last year, too. That doesn't inspire confidence that next year will be significantly different. There was a big change between Year 1, which was a team that scored 27 points on average against Big Ten teams and had only one really bad game (PSU), and Year 2, which was a team that averaged 14 points per game against the Big Ten and had only one good game (Indiana). The difference was play calling: I can remember complaints on this board about how stale and predictable the play calling suddenly became. That's either the OC or the HC but if it's not on the HC why doesn't he tell his OC to go back to what he was doing? Hard not to conclude Schiano has put fetters on his offense.

Rutgers has the tools it needs. It has the fan base and the recruiting grounds in state. You just need the right coach to bring it all together. Tough job, but it CAN be done.
I went to a Rutgers OSU game and tailgated in your tailgate lot pregame. You guys have a better tailgate scene then we do in Cbus (at least now in the post-Hineygate era). I don’t know that Schiano will do it, but I know it can be done. And I’m not talking consistently going bowling. I’m talking about a conference power.

That's hard to do, so congratulations!
I think I remember it though, 1978 long time😂. You must also take into account the condition I was in when I saw the movie😂😂

Unfortunately, Iowa was THE opportunity to really change the narrative. We are what we are. We lost a commit and the timing not coincidentally conforms with the loss.

We did beat BC, yes. But I think that game was like our Temple game, except they lost.
THE opportunity? Yeah, because we don’t have any other good teams on the schedule.
