In the endgame now...need to get Schiano signed today and make it official Wed

Like I said: worry all you want.
It’s not a question of worry. Read the article. I am inferring that they do NOT have the votes yet. Now - why is that? Are people away? Have people not had time to read the whole proposal? Is there opposition? Any of those are possible. But until the meeting is actually called I will continue to wonder if this is actually getting done.

If it doesn't happen this week wonder if that RUScrewPodcast tweet I posted awhile back which was pointed out to me was a joke might actually happen. Weds before Thanksgiving.

Not sure how much debt is left on the stadium expansion but I'm guessing it's not retired yet...then the loan the AD took from the school that has to be paid back...and then the subsidy still exists for the time being....on top of that if you add more debt for whatever infrastructure is being fast tracked....is that something done so easily with public scrutiny or would you rather do it under cover of dark if at all...don't know. Fun drama nonetheless whatever happens.

Have a drink. Smoke a bowl. Rip a rail. Rent a hooker. Stop “inferring.”

The only thing you can infer from the article is that Schiano and Hobbs et al have reached an agreement. You don't know when the agreement was reached.

If they reached an agreement this morning, then it might not be until tomorrow that Angelson and Brown are able to speak with the remaining members of the BOG. Then the earliest the BOG would meet is Friday.

It is really unlikely that if a deal is reached, that it would be rejected by the BOG. Reaching a deal means there is buy in from the 4 BOG members who sit on the Athletic Committee. After that, rejecting the deal would require a No vote from 7 of the remaining BOG members. And that is unlikely because they wouldn't have gone this far down this road if the rest of the BOG objected to bringing back Schiano.

Yes, yes, yes and yes, but (a few of) these guys refuse to listen.

Clearly there is acceptance at the idea of Schiano, but it could be that there is scrutiny of the contract that has been agreed to (which, given Rutgers' recent history with these coaching contracts, might be warranted). What if in the proposed contract Schiano is guaranteed $40 million in salary, for example?

However, it's important to note that if Gov. Murphy's support was secured, then there is a lot of political cover for the Gov. appointed BOG members. As far as I can tell from the BOG website, it is possible that Murphy's nominees have not been confirmed to the BOG yet, which is odd. For example, Amy Towers was nominated last January and still has not had a confirmation hearing.

BTW if for whatever reason this falls through...nothing I've seen from anyone here or in the media give any hint as to what's plan B....especially with BJ withdrawing his name. It seems like GS or bust but there doesn't seem to be a hint of what happens in that bust scenario.

While he's still green, I wonder if Hafley could be the fallback option. Back to OSU DC well but seems like he passes the "acceptability test" for a good number of GS supporters. He's got the personality that everyone loves and I think with the right staff could make a good CEO coach.

That was plan B, it is not falling through, WTF.

Hafley was plan B? I thought BJ was plan B until he pulled out. Other than Hafley's name being on coaching candidate lists I've seen nothing about him being contacted or what not.

I'm not saying it's falling through but not including infrastructure even the contract GS is asking is quite a lot according to KS. 12M total, 4-5M for himself and 7-8M for staff but over 7-8 years not the the typical 5....depending on what the separation clause is should things go south even that could be a holdup at those numbers and years if the guarantees are high...any infrastructure issues notwithstanding.

Butch Jones was plan B

Yea I knew that I’m talking about is there a new plan B now and I’m guessing not....but I think Hafley might be a choice that could pass the acceptability test of a good number of GS supporters should it be necessary.

IF defcon 5 happens, yeah, we would have to wait until the season is over to see who gets fired or if Joe Moorhead wants the job. BUT, no one and I mean no one, not Schiano, Hobbs, Brown, donors, fans, BOG, The Gov, I really mean NO ONE wants that to happen. So that is why this will get done.

I never worry about things in life until someone qualified tells me I have a good reason to worry.

Haven’t seen that here yet. A few more days of sausage making and we’re complete with Greg on board imo.

When the RU Boosters were congratulating Hobbs at the MBB game last week that told me it was going to happen. A Friday or Monday presser will work.

Although I think Schiano is a bit of a dinosaur, I'm fine with him since I doubt we can do better and he certainly knows his way around this school, which is a huge plus. I think his ceiling is low but we can't get any lower and it should get us back to respectable with maybe a bowl game every couple of years. However, I am really surprised at all the negative comments on the nj.com site anticipating his hiring. I would have thought the feedback would have been mostly positive, like on this site.

I’ve been looking at the same site and it appears most of the feedback is against RU hiring G.S. Not sure why, probably money.

Surely you must be familiar with the negativity in internet comments after news stories by now. The fact that comments after any story are negative against a person or institution means pretty much zero.

Soo if they're not announcing a meeting with the BOG tomorrow that means it's not happening this week correct?

Why??? Those are mostly Penn State, Cuse and Uconn fans. Rutgers fans rarely if ever post there.

Serious question: Is the BOG meeting announced to the general public or is the 48 hour notice only provided to BOG members?

Being that next week is Thanksgiving, is Rutgers on a short week and would that impact having a BOG meeting
