Basketball INSTANT REACTION: Rutgers Basketball defeats Georgetown 71-60

Pike made a great point about the rebounds. He said we made them have so many turnovers etc that not as many shots went up so there were less opportunity to get a rebound.
That may explain why Pike pressed G-town to reduce the impact of not having enough size down low to bang with them on the boards. Steal it before they can get into a set offense. The opposing team has fewer possessions, which means fewer scoring opportunities. I don't think people recall Cliff got his second foul early in the first half. That could have changed the complexity of the game. That put a lot of pressure on the front line. Pike turned a weakness into a strength by pressing them.

Many other BIG teams did not fare well against the Big East.
no. quite disappointing. We didn't play the toughest competition by I believe Rutgers has represented the B1G well over the years in these Conf. match-ups. (but we don't belong according to some of our fellow program's fanbases)

Some B1G fanbases have issues with Rutgers because they saw themselves falling down the pecking order in a crowded conference. Once Rutgers righted the ship, it became clear to those schools that the perception they held against Rutgers was dead. It will only worsen as you add 4 more teams next year. IMO, here is the list of schools that are on that path in basketball:
Minnesota
Northwestern
Indiana (Hoosier daddy)
Wisconsin

Schools who can't get it right long enough to be something in basketball:
Penn State
Nebraska
(future member) Washington
