Once again NIL will not be an issue with Harper. The only other viable suitor,Duke has no basketball collective. It frustrates their staff.

Rutgers is actively looking for a one off December game at MSG which does not involve a Big Ten opponent.

Rutgers is taking an exciting European trip in August which will take it to a place of fertile recruiting.

From the mouths of most coaches,Alabama is the most feared March team.

Calipari can have the Texas job if he wants it. His call.

Duke without an "official" NIL is somewhat interesting.

Alabama looks like Baylor 2 years ago in terms of speed, skill and ability to defend.

Harper would still be considered an all time recruiting pull, if it happens. Paired with Bailey and Warren, are there other 2024 kids on the radar that are closer than RU fans would expect ??

I have to assume the Texas move would be NIL driven? Otherwise Kentucky is the better job obviously.

“Rutgers is actively looking for a one off December game at MSG which does not involve a Big Ten opponent.”

Smart Rutgers!!! Imagine if a poster had suggested/said the same thing. Guessing RU isn’t trolling, or a “dolt” or a lesser IQ. A lessor poster might suggest apologies are in order.

I think the frustration is more about giving up a B1G home game for an MSG game than setting up a neutral site OOC game at MSG.

no apologies are necessary on either side of the argument..

it would be the other big tens team turn to be the home team, IF the big ten wants a game next year....
IF the big ten cannot arrange that, we probably refuse to play
a big ten team as the home team, again, because at that point it is unfair.

Possibly, there will be a year or two break from us playing a league game there, and again, it would be the other teams home game, or we should not play....

what this does show is that RU wants to play at the garden, contrary to the opinion that we are forced to play there

you have to wonder if Duke has no organized NIL, and RU comes up with a really decent proposal anyway, it might be
a bit helpful
If things are pretty even between the two programs in Harpers opinion, a fairly big NIL might be something that tilts it a bit

maybe.....

A little surprising about Duke. Great news on another out of conference game at MSG and the European trip.
Totally agree about Alabama and about the only team that is really feared coming into February and March.
Thanks as always for the “tidbits”.

What does an Official Collective have to do with whether NIL is in play?

NIL is checkers compared to the chess Duke plays. They’ll be ok.

Why do they need a collective when players family's have been getting homes, jobs and cash through other means when committing to Duke for decades?
I think we all assume that RU72 is a bit in the know about stuff,

so if he says the Duke people are frustrated about the current set up, it might be that Duke is now at a slight disadvantage, where before they had an advantage

but even if they are now at a disadvantage in "offerings" compared to a Texas, etc, they still are Duke, and will draw real talent.

From what I can tell, the B1G MSG games we have played have alternated home and away games for us. So if this continues, the next MSG after this year’s MSU game, will be an away game for Rutgers, so that year we will have 9 away, 1 MSG and 10 RAC/JMA games.

You’re my favorite troll on the board. You’re not very good at it but you try really hard.

Is this some kind of excuse ahead of time just in case Rutgers succeeds in Harper’s recruitment?

Oopsy especially when you’re wrong and can’t wipe the the egg off your face quick enough.
When did I say Rutgers shouldn’t do an ooc game at msg? I’m one of the few people on the board who wants our ooc schedule to stop being so soft and as usual pike agrees with me. Bless your heart lol.

The guise of fairness is just so completely wacky. Three or four years from now a different B1G team will have to give up a home game…. Wow that’s so comforting…

In a year we are neck and neck with MSU in the standings, maybe an NCAA bid and even seeding, we are losing our home court advantage. Let’s make it even better by announcing this after season tix are distributed and let’s do it at a time that least encourages a good crowd.

To make it sweeter and palatable four years from now Minnesota will give up a home game for RU at the Garden.

Sorry just not jumping for joy. Frankly surprised more people aren’t upset. We shot 2 for 17 at MSU and were still only down four with minutes left. I would have loved the rematch at the RAC.

Great news and thank you for the update.

I would love to play villanova(wife went there) but k would be hesitant playing at MSG—they have the best record there of any teams playing. It was great watching Rutgers down Nova on. 4pt play at the RAC(J Mitchell) with my pregnant wife there in disbelief haha

I agree on Bama..solid team and very well rounded

The point is everybody is saying the Garden, The Garden. We should only play non conference opponents there.

We could and should have some Garden games but think it’s sheer lunacy giving away home court advantage in conference games. Advantage to visiting team like MSU. The idea that some visiting team will have the same disadvantage years from now… whoppy damn do. Perhaps fair in theory but in reality just a bad joke for the away team or RU in any particular year.

We correctly don’t give away conference games to Met Life in Football. We shouldn’t fall for this crap in hoops either.

Will be interesting when UCLA and USC visit the RAC for the first time.
Will be interesting if Mick Cronin is Calipari’s successor at Kentucky.

I have not read everything, but want to add that Duke has always had an unofficial basketball collective. We all know Lance Thomas's moms deal. It is well known in the area that the benefactors will help everyone out. An NIL collective might be a negative in these circumstances.

Wake me up when Rutgers puts out a statement blaming Tom Izzo for scheduling games at MSG, dolt

Give me a Rutgers vs. Kansas type of game at the Garden in December
Exaxtly

We are not getting a big time team coming to the RAC as long as we have a 85% winning percentage there like we do over the last four years

People need to pay attention on how rare it is for a major home and home in basketbal is , even for the Kentucky , dukes , UNC, Kansas of the workd

That’s why these tournmwnts in the preseason exist , and the confrence chalenges

People WILL play us in the garden …and the garden will have us as long as we bring it

It’s great for this program. Anyone Around the the 70s and early 80s saw how awesome these games were for Rutgers basketball….

Didn't Duke hire an NBA assistant GM to run their NIL or whatever they've got going on? And was Dean paying players too??
