Kelvin Harmon picks NC State, why?

In many ways new jersey is the least provincial state in america. The people there see staying in the same locale as failure to thrive or low on ambition. Success and ambition are measured by being adventurous, not by staying in the same place. I think many on here mistake this for a desire to "get away from new Jersey."
In many, many ways, it's the most provincial state in the U.S..

People here post the same thing every time a Jersey kid commits somewhere. Why oh why can't RU get these kids?

Simple answer.....MOST DON'T WANT TO STAY IN NEW JERSEY. Hell, your average HS grad doesn't want to either. Why is it so hard to understand?

You can build the walls or fence the gardens but I firmly believe if Ash is going to be successful it will primarily be on the back of out of state recruits
disagree 100%. The only way Ash wins here is bye making a dent into NJ recruiting. watching 9 out of top 11 NJ recruits sign with another B10 team is bad..
Flood tried the 'out of state ' recruiting while other schools cleaned up in NJ ..it got him fired.

Flood also had no rep outside NY/NJ. The new staff does.

Anyway, it wasn't just recruiting that got Flood fired. It was as much what he did or didn't do once they were on campus.

I would say that what got flood fired is that he must have emotionally overinvested himself in his players, to the point where he broke a very fundamental rule of any university's academic integrity......and it turned out that that player and several others really didn't have much personal integrity anyway.

I was recruited by NC State for track ... I remember trees on the main highways ... And bricks ... Everywhere on campus. There was a different vibe down there, and everything seemed slower paced. Also visited UVA with the same perception. Keep in mind the timeframe is mid-90s. Went to RU to stay local, and viewing RU campus today the gap is closing.

The Schiano regime got Jersey kids to stay home. It's not quite as impossible as some here may think. That being said, once again, this class of Jersey kids was never coming here, and is long gone, so move on my friends.

A shame since this was a highly touted HS class out of NJ. Anybody know how the next 2-3 classes are projected to be, talent-wise?

NCSU has recently completed the core of its new Centennial Campus. Google it. Nothing RU has matches this, especially the new library. Check it out.
