Let's go METS 2016 thread ......Just get in and anything can happen!

I can't believe you continually take the time to bold half a made up name over and over. Good lord.

Just like Yankee fan take credit for the Mets thread they hijacked for being 41 pages long because half of those pages are filled with worthless, repeated Yankee fan gibberish. Meanwhile three Yankee threads were allowed to die.

Only six of the 15 NL teams have winning records. The Mets and Nationals are two of those teams. Teams play most of their games against teams from the same division and league. The Mets will only play teams with winning records in the playoffs assuming they get in again, much like last season when they crushed the Dodgers and Cubs before falling to the Royals.

Allow me to retort.
1. The mets certainly crushed the Cubs. But they won a five game series from the Dodgers 3 games to 2 by a score of 3-2 in game five. Who exactly would characterize THAT as "crushing the Dodgers" ?
2. The mets play 19 of their 22 remaining games vs. teams with losing records. Why can't you guys just admit that you've been blessed by the schedule-maker ?
3. Yankees record currently 74-65 .532
mets record currently 74-66 .529
Who "owns" New York ?

Oh yeah....that's pathetic.
Your team wins a big game with a walk off HR, and where are you, on "our" thread ,lol, unreal.I will from now on refer to you as . . . .

I can't believe you actually have to explain that to mr. met. I think I posted pretty much the same thing earlier. If you don't like London broil it's O.K. to post negative stuff about it in the thread someone started about the subject. If you don't like A-Rod it's O.K. to post negative comments about him in a thread someone started about him. If you don't like Tom Brady it's O.K. to post negative stuff about him in a thread someone started about him.
But if someone starts a thread about the mets....oh my! Please be advised that the thirty-year drought has caused some of them to be highly sensitive and they'll tear up at the first disparaging post. Get ready for lots of foot-stomping, whining, and name-calling. I've run into this type of mets fan pretty much since 1962. They're not all like that....but a surprisingly large percentage are. The only thing they're more jealous of than the Yankees success are Yankees fans and all of the joy their team has given them over the years.
The mets....not so much.

I posted my thoughts earlier on mets fans complaining that others have posted "negative stuff" about the Amazins and their soft road to the playoffs. I don't think I can explain it any clearer. So, for the jackass I'll just bring it back up.
And which New York MLB team is having the better season ?

Regardless of which team you root for, you have to love September baseball. Both Yankees and Mets have been sprinting to the finish lately. It's going to be an exciting month for fans of teams in playoff position. With that said...LET'S GO METS!
I got no issues qith the Yankees or most Yankee fans. The last two years have been great for NY baseball. But its the cult like Yankee fans who instead of celebrating thei team's wins and young players who basically took over their team from the overpriced players, those miserable POS fans make themselves feel good by belittling the Mets and Mets fans. Then they have the nerve to get pissed off because nobody wants to hear them and call out their BS!!!! PERIOD!!!!

Anyway, great win for Yankees last night and heres hoping the Mets take care of the Braves over the weekend.

Running out of stuff to complain about so he recycles his tired old lines,LMFAO. Again, instead of celebrating his teams nice run, and dramatic walk off win, he's here crowing his tired line. Even debating the Mets playoff run last season and how to characterize it.

Re: #1, that is just semantics.

Re: #2, it just means the Mets already played all of their games against their opponents that have better records. Yes, on paper the Mets have the easiest remaining schedule. So what?

Re: #3 - the team that goes farthest in the playoffs had the better overall season. That is still TBD. If the Yankees have a better regular season record but fail to make the playoffs and the Mets are in the Series again, advantage Mets.

They are hiding under a rock because their great and all powerful AL East has only one, yes I say, only one team playing over .500 baseball. Sure it's early, but even in this over rated division, the Stankees are dead last, and the Phillies, who some of the 'experts' on here called one of the 2 worst in ALL of baseball, would be in 3rd in the great ALEast. I think it's time to say the Twins and Braves are clearly the 2 worst in baseball, and there is NO, I repeat, no concernable difference between any division at this point, none. That is all.

Awful funny blast from the past.

38 of 162. Same as last year the NL East was freain' awful.

^ Nuts pointing out that the mets this season play virtually 25% of their games vs. two of the worst teams in MLB.....Atlanta and Philly.
That fact along with 19 of their last 22 games vs. teams with losing records is why I still maintain that a Thank You note to the schedule-maker.....maybe even an edible arrangement.... is in order from mets fans.

Tico (and others) - you do know you can solve this problem with exactly two clicks, do you not?

The horse's ass is recycling even older posts from as far back as May,lol. Even he's getting tired of typing his stale line. Go back to the new thread on your team, fans are coming out of the wood work now that they have done an about face, lol.

Uh oh.
After three games vs. the worst team in the NL(Atlanta) the mets have to play three games against a team with an actual winning record....the Nationals.
And it just gets worse. After they're done with the Nats the mets play the worst team in the AL(Minnesota) and then the worst team in the NL(Atlanta) again.
How tough can it get ?

Even more than that I would liken him to what comes out of said ass.

1. there must be a reason you chose the word "crushed", Rutgersal.
2. the mets actually started the season with 15 of their first 20 games vs. teams that have a losing record. And since they play 38 of 162 vs. Atlanta and Philadelphia, maybe they just didn't play many quality teams this season.
3. I agree, of course. But as of today...9/9/16....the New York Yankees are the better team. Look it up.
And when you factor in strength of schedule it's not even close.

According to the stats at http://www.playoffstatus.com/mlb/nationalsosag.html the total winning percentage of Mets' opponents for the full season is 49%. That's the same as eight other NL teams (to two decimal places, anyway). Yes, the NL has more teams with losing records (than the AL this year. So what?

Winning % of the opponents of the games they've already played: 50%. Winning % of the remaining opponents: 45%.

Yankees vs Mets not even close, huh? Hmmm... let's see what the power rankings at MLB.com have to say... Mets #14, Yankees #15 (using the expert rankings column in the link::http://m.mlb.com/power-rankings/)

CBS sports: Mets #11, Yankees #13. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/powerrankings/

USA Today: Mets #13, Yankees #14. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/mlb/rankings/

Sports Illustrated: Mets #13, Yankees #14. http://www.si.com/mlb/2016/09/07/30-power-rankings-week-22-twins-mets-giants-red-sox

Considering the amount of injuries the Mets have had to deal with, this fan is happy to see meaningful September games with a real shot at the postseason. Yankee haters gonna hate...

Tehran won't be easy, for some reason Wisler does well against us. That being said , don't let Freeman beat you and keep the ball rolling. Early lead is key , Bruce time to shine or hit the pine .

Who is New York's #1 MLB team ?
Nah....nevermind. Let's not worry about wins or losses or schedule difficulty. Let's check how the sportswriters have them rated.
