Match Thread: Midlands Tourney, mat assignments & comments:

I felt better about our overall performance after day one than I do today thus far. We could wind up 3 or 4 overall, which is pretty good but going 1 for 4 in the semis, was a little deflating. Let's hope we finish strong this evening.

Looks like Mat 1 for Championship matchs
Mat 2 for the 3/4 place
Mat 3 for 5/6

Starting at 165, so Richie Lewis up early

Wrong . Not a single ranked wrestler from Okl St will be there, take away Penn St and Lehigh and you got very little, no ranked wrestlers from VT or NC St either.

You are correct. The Scuffle has them listed as bringing a full squad and it on their schedule. I do see the release where they are just sending reserves. My mistake.

end 1= Lewis up 2-0 but ASU challenging. Valencia took all the shots, but Lewis took 1 counter and hit it lol

Question i forgot to ask, It looked like suriano hurt his fingers early in the first period of his match,,,,,did anyone else see that?

Lewis clinches 3rd with a 5-1 win over Valencia!! Maybe Marinelli is just too powerful for Lewis. He has 174 or even 184 in his future at Iowa I bet.

Am I seeing this correctly ..is Nick Gravina gonna try and tough this out ..didn’t he mff in his last match?

For those of you keeping score on the teams, ASU jumped RU by 2 points in 2nd place, 105.5 to 103.5. Hope Stoll takes out Hall in the Heavy Finals and Suriano wins the 125 crown and DelVecchio/JVB win their 3rd place matches.

DeLuca and Gravina getting hurt really cost us. We win second easily if we just stayed healthy.

Grocery store closes at 10. I live 15 minutes away from it. I want to watch Suriano and go to the store. 197 and HWT need to be quick pins.

I can't believe I actually have to root for a kid from Iowa to win. O the humanity.

Updated team standings 1. Iowa - 140.5 2. Arizona State - 105.5 3. Central Michigan - 104.0 4. #RUWR - 103.5 5. South Dakota St. - 92.0

Now is time to root for my 1st Iowa wrestler Since that guy who beat Campolatanno in HS was there...I can;t remember his name, but LOVED the stache

Wasn't very pretty but Suriano wins 2-1 thanks to a stalling penalty. thought Suriano did do a little more.
