RU has to designate 10 guys (separate weight classes) for team scoring.

Midlands is gonna be a tough tournament this year. Lots of ranked wrestlers. This is a great chance for guys like Giraldo and Lewis to prove they belong in the rankings.

Also, it will be good for Theobold and DelVecchio to get some real work. I wonder who they will choose at 149 and 133 out of the 10 for team scoring. I'd Think Giraldo and Theo, but who knows.

Not true, as long as they are "attached", you can designate more than 1 wrestler per weight.

Edit: unless they changed that this year....Iowa had two guys at one weight, either last year, or the year before.

What he is talking about is for the team score. You can have two guys at a weight but you need to designate which one is counting for team score. At least that is what I think he means.

Question. If a wrestler is red shirting, can they wrestle in this type of event?

Is Pagano the only one going to the Midlands that has never wrestled in a dual meet for RU? I guess they feel this is a better experience than Wilkes for him.

It looks that way. My guess is they feel he may be the starting 165 next year so lets see what he has against the better competition. Just my guess.

minor note to rufeelinit...Pagano won on Nov 1 this year against Centenary College by pin in College Ave gym

Minor point taken Josh! I have to admit I lol when I read the point and saw how you characterized. I wasn't trying to sell Jordan short it was just that I could not figure out how he was selected as the 15th participant.

They don't have to say witch one is scoring, it usually goes witch ever is the higher scoring wrestler in the weight class. So if giraldo takes 2nd and Delv takes 4th Giraldo points would count for our team. They don't have to say ahead of time who's points count and who's doesn't.

I think Ashnault and Perrotti have a real good chance to make the finals. Smith should be in the top 4. Giraldo was here last year so that should help him and maybe he can punch threw. I would love to see McCabe make a rub here and place. That would be huge for his season. Gravina and Lewis could have a special Tourn if everything pans out. Really excited for this thing for its the closest thing they have this year to the NCAA's

This is not true, they must identify before wrestling begins who the point scorers are...

Here's the rules:

They must have changed that because Iowa was really big on this the past couple of years. Thank u for the heads up!

I just confirmed via his Twitter account that David Taylor, the magic man, has signed up in the 184 weight class.

Andrew long really did just make in interesting.for not wrestling in a wile he is doing surprising well.

will RU be tweeting where wrestlers are competing?
WHat is the best way to know who is wrestling where?

I am not sure if RU will be tweeting it or not, but the best way to get mat assignments is usually track wrestling.com. Usually they have a "dashboard" that you can use to follow all the action, and then you can switch to and from that and BTN2go. It will show the scores on all the mats, although sometimes with some delay. It will also show who is next up on each mat, so as you see Rutgers guys (or whomever else) get assigned, you can go to that mat on BTN2go.
