MSG Game - Announcement

Please curb your righteous indignation.

1. Do you honestly believe we have a better chance winning at the Garden or at the RAC?

Yes we lost to Wisconsin by one at the Garden.
Even Eddie Jordan beat Wisconsin at the RAC.
That’s exhibit 1 for playing at the RAC.

2. Yes I think we have a much better time of winning and winning big over MSU at the RAC 2x then at the Garden. We struggled at the Garden and were in a dog fight. You might not like it but that’s what happened. Hard to convincingly argue against.

3. Where’s our makeup game at the Garden the last two years where our opponent had to give away their home game? Oh right it hasn’t happened?

4. So the year after RU gives up a home game with MSU at the Garden, RU plays MSU once and its away. In what world is that fair?
If you don’t think that’s odd or benefitting Izzo?

Well we have a difference of opinion but hardly ridiculous. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck? Get it? Ducking the RAC?

And as much as you want to protest has any other school gone as long not playing at the other teams arena as Izzo and MSU?

5. I get Pike promised Ace and Dylan a game at MSG. I am firmly against giving away home conference games. I see Duke and Illinois playing in the Garden. How did that happen? Which teams did we try? Villanova played Maryland at the Pru. Why not RU v Nova at the Garden one year and Wells Fargo the next? I think RU fans deserve a better explanation than we tried. Maybe if we had a focused AD?

6. I admit Mags injury is a stretch and weakest argument but how much of a stretch? Truth is injury happened at the Garden not the RAC, more travel didnt need, more wear and tear (no pun intended), changed the routine, different floor, ice underneath?, different stress outside the norm. Is it that far fetched?

7. Then B1G sends RU off to a quick away game after emotional game. On the other hand MSU gets a home game. Hmmmmm. No benefit to Izzo right? Fair to RU?? Hmmmmmm.

Ridiculous conjecture or 💯 on point?

Fair subject for commentary.
Counsel, the time allotted for argument on this issue has expired. While the Court is sympathetic to the fans who would prefer the game be played at the RAC, and takes judicial notice of the fact that RU would have a better chance of winning there, we are constrained to recognize that, rightly or wrongly, Pike wanted the game and Pike got the game. The request for a restraining order is denied with prejudice. The game will proceed at MSG. Case closed.

Counsel, did Pike really want to give way a home conference game away or scrambled after if he promised an MSG game to Ace and Dylan?

Issue becomes ripe for adjudication on appeal for appellate attorneys after re-opened by both price and sale of said tix for said event. Respectfully…

Will you be at the game?

Will you be at the game?
Of course. Doesn’t make it right.
Was there last time against Michigan
Was there for Iowa State and Michigan
Was there for Maryland and BYU.
Was there for Louisville. Up there with one of my most painful losses.
Were you?
Don’t dare question my fandom. Just silly.

This Court did not retain jurisdiction. Any appeal must be filed with and argued on the National Board.

Not really 100% serious with this one but on the other hand, don’t mess with the basketball gods, don’t mess with the routine, and like it or not, it happened at the Garden and not the RAC. Food for thought. Maybe MSU played a tad more aggressive at MSG than they would at the RAC? Not beyond the realm of possibility.

I do know this, last two times we played at the RAC, it wasn’t a contest. At MSG, we were behind at the half. I also know that Rizzo will go more than 5 years not playing at the RAC.

Also know B1G immediately sent us on a quick turnaround away game. Never allows RU a homestand or to gain momentum or confidence and rest.

As a diehard RU fan and long time season tix holder I have earned the right to question that and certainly bring it up on a message board and don’t have to drink the koolaid.

The entire Big Ten schedule is perfectly crafted to ensure Rutgers doesn’t get momentum. It’s top of every ADs mind every year. “Rutgers has been a basketball powerhouse for the last 40 years, how can we slow them down??” They exclaim.

Non-Conference no problem if you must.

We stopped playing football games at Giants Stadium/Met Life. Just sayin’!
Seriously , a ridic comparrasion

I was a fan when we HAD to play games in gianta stadium.

Playing a college basketball game in Madison Sauarw Garden…rhe one place that if you had to ask anyone where they would love to play most….thar would TOP the list

And we are playing there….on CBS , with the final four announcing crew (that’s what I beleive will be the case)…before 15000+ (I think we can sell it out if we win enough before )….its a damn no brainer

There is a reason why Duke would not play us there …they want it to be a home game

There is a reason why Syracuse would
Not okay is there…they want it to be a home game

for whwre we are as a program …this is a NO BRAINER

Then, once they have us at MSG where security is lax, they send a guy out with a crowbar to go after our players’ knees.

It’s all starting to make sense.

Karl-Anthony Towns agrees.

Not questioning your fandom. I just figured when you feel so passionately about something where you post about it non-stop every season that you'd stay home and make a point about it. Hit them in their wallet.

Do you think Rutgers gets the benefit of scheduling and doubt?
Do you think maybe Izzo does?

B1G has already made up the Garden game right?? Wait they haven’t?

I gotta a videotape of an Ohio State hoops game I wanna show you.

You don’t think Izzo gets preferential treatment? Good Luck with that.

If we keep giving away home conference games…
What’s the definition of insanity?
I don’t like to make it personal. I like to stick to the issue in question.
Still out there rooting for RU in person as much as I can even if I disagree. No inconsistency.

I was agreeing with you. The Big Ten is obviously an anti-Rutgers organization.

All the money we have made them.
And it’s still not enough.
The Garden shannigans. Trying to move RU v Maryland to Yankee Stadium. Glad we avoided that. OSU ridiculousness.
All 12:00 Saturday football start times at home.
Officiating.
4 out of last 6 away this year.
Anyone take a close look at our hoops schedule this year. The gaps between home games ridiculous.
Need I go on?

So who do we think is responsible? One person? A team of people? If its multiple people - is this conspiracy carried out verbally? Over text? Email? Do they have meetings about it while they’re trying to administer 20 sports for 18 schools?

They wouldn’t be silly enough to put something like this in emails.

I’m pretty sure they carry it out during annual meetings at Madison Square Garden. This is why it is imperative for Rutgers to have a game there. Otherwise they will need to reschedule the meeting.

I’m not sure how many people are responsible but I am 100% sure that it involves at least Tom Izzo and that ref from Ohio State.

Playing at MSG is great and I don't care if we give up a home game to do so. We get so many fans who are shutout from going to the RAC and they get an opportunity to see them on the greatest stage. It helps expand our fanbase and built excitement like I saw last time we were there.

We NEED to stop playing at Prudential center and NEVER play again at Trenton.

The amount of interest I get for MSG tickets is awesome and our take over of the Garden is impressive. It creates an event.

People on this board just love to complain about anything and it sucks

I like to support NJ arenas.

No problem with Pru. Fans can get there too and easier and shorter than the Garden.

Hatred of Trenton and Pru is just as much whining and it also sucks. Irony?

People on other sides of issue complaining just as much no? It sucks!
