NBATV app has picked up the upcoming Tuesday night CityOfPalmsBKB game between Don Bosco versus McEachern

That great. Calapari has done it for years. Pike is going to do a 180.

Gavin is the highest rated recruit and so far that isnt working.

We have Buddy Ryan as coach and he is now trying to win with offense

Here's my issue. Realize it or not, you are portraying Pike as a one dimensional simpleton who hit the lottery and will not know what to do with/waste all the riches he just won.

I'm sure you realize that not every data point is identical. Gavin does not equal Dylan who does not equal Ace. There is really no way to know how this will all work out, but to shit all over getting a recruiting class this high by stating things such as "RU fans will be dissapointed" or make references to without Mag we will be lost is curious given that we don't even know what the portal will bring nor who is coming back. Further, a small sample size in a HS game is not fully indicative of the effort that will be put in next year with further maturity, conditioning and a coach who is pretty much all about teaching effort.

As others have said, Ace Bailey seemed to force some things while apparently trying to do too much himself in McEachern's loss to Don Bosco. In case anyone isn't aware, his performances in McEachern's next 2 City of Palms Classic games have been impressive. He did have 6 turnovers vs Westminster and 4 vs Cannon, but overall some very nice games on a big stage. Ace plays again in the City of Palms Classic Consolation Championship game vs North Mecklenburg (NC) at 2:30pm on Saturday, the tournament's final day.

VS Westminster on Wed:

26 Pts, 12-21 FG, 2-8 3PT, 0-0 FT, 18 REB (6 OR, 12 DR), 5 Ast, 3 Stl

Highlights

VS Cannon School on Fri:

43 Pts, 18-27 FG, 3-4 3PT, 4-4 FT, 19 REB (6 OR, 13 DR), 5 Ast, 2 Stl

Highlights
He has to force things when McEachern plays top teams because he doesn’t have much help.

I'll take the combined 52 points for the 2 of them every game!
I'll take it too, but I'd prefer the combined 81 points that the two of them had in their separate City of Palms Classic games today... A combined 30-50 FG, 7-12 3PT, 14-14 FT, and 25 rebounds.. They should be able to match that in most of our games.. 😉

You could be right and i could be wrong.

Id love to be wrong.

Winning in B1G isnt about having the most talent

Shooting at a heart rate at 130 is different than shooting at a heart rate of 90.

Yes pike can be more than 1 dimensional and win by outscoring. Given that he has been a defenese oriented team i have a tough time envisioning it.

I have been wrong about RU hoops many time and id love this to be the biggest fail.

McEachern wins the Consolation division Championship of City of Palms Classic by beating North Mecklenburg (and Duke commit Isaiah Evans) 78-71. Third superb tournament game in a row by Ace: 32 pts, 12-19 FG, 3-5 3PT, 5-6 FT, 17 REB, 3 AST, 1 BLK.

Over his last 3 games at the tournament, all of which McEachern won, Ace averaged 34 points and 18 rebounds, and shot a combined 42-67 FG (62.7%), 8-17 3PT (47%), and 9-10 FT (90%).

Dylan Harper's 33 points lead Don Bosco to a 96-92 overtime win over a talented IMG Academy team to win the Fifth Place Championship game at City of Palms.

(Long Island Lutheran, the only team that Bosco lost to in the tournament (58-55 score) plays in the Tournament Championship game against Cooper Flagg and Montverde Academy tonight at 9pm on ESPNU.)

Darius Acuff from IMG is legit good. Hopefully the Coach Williamson connection with give us a chance.

??? "Why indeed" There have been several threads where I've felt the need to chime in because other players were proclaimed to be better. And I said "some Rutgers fans" in a thread where people were saying his game needs work because they saw one game. I did not say a "plethora" of Rutgers fans. Just a couple that want to place other players above with little to no evidence of that being the case. Also the posters that aren't sure about the direction of the team in the NIL era and don't like the idea of 1 and done. This has been an ongoing thing on this board for months; simply an extension of the conversation.
You said "some".. people here went through the thread and figured it was ONE. "plethora" means large amount or EXCESSIVE amount. You used an excessive amount of fans instead of arguing directly against the one fan. What happened in other threads on other subjects matters not... but my use of "strawman army" was too strong. Merry Christmas.

Wish Ace hit that FT fade-away in his highlights. That he takes that shot might mean he regular hits it.. If that's true.. wow.

As for Pike and his offense and things not working right now... while I am worried, I still think we need to give these guys time to make everything gel. I do not think we have enough "beef" and we're getting pushed around and the way the game is called in the Big Ten that will be allowed much more often than not... and we cannot just do what refs allow because we don't have the "beef". That cannot be fixed by players gelling better.. but maybe we can compete in other ways if it happens.
