Went up against an experienced, sweet 16 team from last year. The off-season praises of the shooting and offensive prowess might have been over hyped but the team showed resilience at times yesterday.

Will need Gavin to get up to speed defensively and play stronger or whatever was keeping him off the court because he looks like the only offensive threat on the perimeter. Woolfolk looks great, not sure if he will be taking threes but he works well playing next to cliff. Fernandes is like one of my friends coming into ball at La fitness after not playing for 3 years after getting married and having a child. He needs to get back in playing shape and comfortable on the court. Davis looked like the most under control and game savvy player on the team, first ever game. He will start making those layups/shots. Palmquist looks good out there, Princeton is a hard team to defend but he gave effort on defense as well.

Cliff may be thinking too much about the NBA. When he walked into that 3, it didn't look bad but I thought wtf, not even a shot the team needed at the time. Reel that back in chief. Hyatt, keep chopping champ but coaches need to get Gavin ready because team needs a competent perimeter player that can shoot and drive to the basket for buckets. Don't think you can count on Hyatt for that. Simpson is still loose with his handle and out of control at times can't run the point guard, didn't see enough of his shot to judge that at this point but would have liked to see him match the Canadian kid from Princeton's game. That's supposed to be you Derek lol , that kid looks like hit the weight room this off season not sure what Simpson was doing all year in the state of the art practice facility. Kid was eating everyone up whenever Davis wasn't on him. Seems like Davis was the only energetic guard we had every one else couldn't move their feet. Austin Williams looks like the best option at the 2 guard if Gavin isn't going to play there but I think he's still getting back from and acl so he looks slow out there.

With all of the faults the team still showed the resilience to come back from 2 or 3 large deficits. They have fight in them, team wasn't all the way together in the beginning last year either. But eventually they identified a way to win games. Mag will be back in a month or 2 as well, long season let's see what the coaches come up with..
