What's the prediction for next years lineup? I'll take a crack at it. Thoughts?

125-Aguilar
133-Suriano
141-Aragona
149-Van Brill
157-Glasgow
165- Kanniard
174-Grello
184-Janzer
197-Correnti
285-Collucci

Redshirt Turley?
Does he go 174 in College?
I am excited to see Turley, he seems to have an aggressive edge to him.

197 Max Wright, he was challenging Correnti at beginning of year?

True It could be Wright. Also maybe Lipari or Benner at 149?

Overall, will the team be better next year? About equal? Worse? Too tough to say now? Thanks!

I think the team will be better Duals, worse Tournaments.
Only 1 title contender next year (Nick S.) and that is a lot of points to make up.

But this year as a team we’ll qualify what... 3 weights? Maybe 5? As of now, JVB, Ashnault, and Suriano are the “locks”... no??

Qualifying ten weights will make us a better tournament team.

Pretty much. Correnti, Grello, Gravina and Glasgow need a good BIG tourney and I think I read somewhere the BIG has a large number of auto qualifiers for 285 so Colucci could get in just for showing up at BIG's.

Not necessarily if your 10 qualifiers all lose in first two matches you got nothing. Guys just can't make it there but they need make some noise. Looking through next year's line up it is a big question mark and I'm hoping a kid like Lightner could make some progress this summer and compete. Lots of upside.

Qualifying ten does not make us a better tournament team. Placing on the podium makes RU a better tournament team. Take away Anthony's 20 something points(finalist or champ!!), next years team is not making up those points.

Glasgow at his correct weight 157 will be a welcomed relief. Hope Goodale's pushing him up to 165 this year didn't do permanent physical or psychological damage.

Intriguing. So many question marks for next season (...ask yourself; other than Suriano, who on the roster is a guaranteed high-level consistent B1G performer?) yet much potential at the same time. This offseason will be huge for Goodale and Co.... can they somehow get the young guys, as well the under-performing upperclassmen (Grello, MVB, Correnti, etc), to buy in, commit 100%, and turn the corner in both physical training and mental focus? HWT and 149 need upgrading via transfer IMO. 149 is wide open...if MVB improves and/or Santos returns strong from injury, that weight might not be the disaster it appears right now. Collucci at HWT has a low ceiling but is serviceable, he is what he is.

Or it could and probably has made him tougher.... And btw... Goodale didn't push him up there... He lost to JVB at 157, and chose to go 165 rather than redshirt!!

Nope he did not choose to redshirt - Donner not be able to wrestle and no other options was the reason why he had to wrestle.Glasgow wrestling at 165 is not the issue but the injury he sustained without having enough recovery time.A better decision should have been made in sending him out to wrestle that soon.Match after match we saw the same result. This does not make anyone tougher but breaks them down mentally. You can't perform at the highest level in that type of physical state. Maybe Glasgow sits out for the next couple of weeks. This might give him some healing time with the possibility of a good Big Ten tournament finishing in the top 8 to qualify.

Grello has a good shot in making the NCAAs.It looks like there could be 10 to 11 wrestlers from the Big Ten that could make the tourney. If he wins two matches with the right seeding he should be in.

Gravina has put his heart & soul into Rutgers wrestling.I just pray his shoulder holds up to qualify and a nice run at the NCAAs to become an All American.

Correnti can turn it up when he needs too.I think his match against Brucki was one of his best this season.

If they all have a good big ten tournament we could end up with 8 NCAA qualifiers. I hope this is not wishful thinking but I would like to stay optimistic.

We will agree to disagree...

With getting almost nothing from 3 classes in a row, we need 1 or 2 transfers that are more than just contributors.

But very hard to find the money for two good guys to come in. They’d have to be from jersey for a lower tuition cost and we’d probably have to lose some guys who are receiving funds. Not easy..

Who was that JUCO that everyone wanted to transfer here?
He was all the talk last year, i believe this would have been his second year in JUCO.
I remember it was a jersey guy.

Glasgow says he is fine and ready to go so don’t put it on the coaches throwing him to the wolves.

wngarbarini respectfully how many times have we heard he is fine or 100%.I know we are all watching the same matches and he is not fine. There is something obviously wrong, although it is admirable of him to go out to wrestle, the results are the same.He can barely finish the matches. If there were no stoppages in the last match he probably would have taken an injury time.I am just saying it is quite difficult to watch each time.As an opponent I will shoot on that knee all day long.Once you go out there all body parts are game.

If Suriano doesn't come in at least #2 or 3 this year at 133, I wonder if he will consider going back to 125 next year. Heck , he already knows he can beat Rivera, doing so previously, and only lost to Lee by 4 points on 1 weak leg after a long stint in the hospital.

Is it too late for this season? I think I remember reading he only certified at 133 for this season, and then there is the NCAA rule on weight loss by each week .

His match against #1 Micic on Feb 17 will be a great litmus test. Right now he is only 2 controversial calls away from being undefeated.

I don't remember the controversial call in the Iowa match?

What was the controversial call in the DeSanto match? DeSanto just bullied him the whole match.

Suriano looked tentative in both matches. Reminded me a lot of Ashnault prior to this year - dominating everyone and clamming up against top talent. He needs to get that nonsense out of his head and let it fly. Hopefully he does so in the Big Tens.

As to Glasgow, people should just chill out.

1. He will be fine for next year regardless. Cleared to wrestle means no risk of further injury. So he isn't 100%, but he is not doing any damage so it is what it is.

2. Even with his participation, it is better now than it was, and his results are better now then they were. He looked solid in both matches this past weekend. I suppose there is a risk of breaking him psychologically, but I think that is minimal risk. Better to let him understand the commitment needed to succeed at this level, and to see how good he can be, such as in the Nebby match. IMO that is going to do more good then harm -- letting him feel the crowd and the moment and having that to build on in the offseason. Its not like he doesn't know his is operating at less than 100%.

Suriano lost to Fix in SV (ON a blow to the face)
Gave up a TD in the waning seconds of the DeSanto match (Mental mistake)
I would think there is zero chance he goes back to 125.
It is not as if he was technically out wrestled.

Do not see that happening.NS can win at 133 so those losses will only help him in the long run.I agree with Ole Cabbagehead that he needs to let it fly.

Willie Scott ?....I see more then one prediction and none include WS...I agree with most of them for sure but just have a hunch Willie ain’t gonna go down easily ..pretty impressed with his effort at weight where he was definitly undersized ..don’t count him out !!

Tough call on would it have been better to have Glasgow red shirt or wrestle. A lot of pros and cons either way. Just hope he gets healthy for next season.
