No one of the negative posters

Is beating a team that made the tournament last season a good win? How about beating that team twice in a row? McConnell played his best game of the season. RHjr took control of the game. Mulcahy was effective running the point. Cliff was a monster down low. Great team win.

Plenty to work on. The foul shooting was not great and will cost us in closer games. We just found a way to respond to every Clemson attempt to trim the 2nd half lead. Hope we can build on this one!

U define negative posters as those who call it like it is haha. And tonight ill call it like it is. We looked good tonight. We defended well, rotation was the best its been all year. Jalen miller is a very good defender. Caleb had one of the best games of his career. Ron was on absolute fire. Paul looked GREAT om both ends. All around great game. When shots fall from deep we are pretty good. Only issue is we dont do much to create easy shots

Great effort tonight. We played much harder from the tip to the horn than they did . Caleb played great and Ron finished for us when we needed it. Not sure why we couldn’t bring this same energy against the lower level teams but hopefully it’s a start. Next three games are extremely tough but if we can get 1, I’ll take it .

This was the only game that looked like RU basketball....I think RU didn't get the memo about competition and although Jalen Miller didn't play in any of the 1st 6 games, I think we found something else without Geo on defense.... blessing in disguise indeed....

Total BS.....

I thought RHJ had a bad back and couldn't play?
If you followed the thread there was quite a bit of positive.
Personally I don't know what happened and where this effort has been. You want me to start a thread 'Where the frack has this effort and execution been?" Would that make you feel better? Not one of those guys. I'll just repeat what I said several times tonight. What a difference, don't know what changed, and more please.

Yes start one I’m sure it will be very debatable.

Good to see the team give Miller a round of applause in the team huddle. This team is not hard to root for, when they can hit the side of a barn.😉

Will give pike credit. There won’t be any extend pike polls. It’ll be quiet tonight. Tonight was what a pike led RU teams does and how they win.
Hard to not have been critical of Pike and the team after laying 3 eggs in a row (although talk of firing him was ridiculous), but tonight was obviously our best effort and great credit goes to Pike and the staff (especially Knight who put together the gameplan for Clemson, according to Pike) for putting us in a position to win.

No those who over react. Chicken little posters. Tonight we played our style, scrappy with effort. That is how we win.

Ron Harper Jr hit what like 5 threes? And Caleb McConnell found his top of the key jumper again. When those things happen we will win more than we lose
When we play defense like we did tonight and have energy we will win more than we loose. Our defense powers our offense.

Good coaching and game plan turned things around? Pike certainly deserves fault in 3 losses, but also deserves credit tonight.

Critical is fine. The sky is falling, Pike should be fired, etc were ridiculous . We had a stretch last year where we looked worse, and we would have lost to “cupcake” ooc teams, just so happened it was against b10 teams so it didn’t get the same reaction.

You cannot have your cake and eat it too. So you support the team when they win and ask that Pike be fired when we lose.

Why all the negative stuff. The players are trying the best they can and you bashing them every three seconds is ridiculous.

Miller went from not playing a second to being subbed in on defense at key moments down the stretch.

Kid showed a lot of things that I like on the defensive end. Looking forward to seeing more of him out there.

Many on this site kept saying Miller must be horrible if he never got in. I said how good he was on defense as I have attended 7 practices already. He got a chance tonight and showed he can play. I am very happy for him, Coach Pikiell and the entire team. No one is ever perfect and many on this site calling for Coach to get fired is completely absurd. We don't need the negativism against coach and the entire team.

The defense was really good tonight and they had good ball movement. We were just very motivated to contest shots and get in their faces. I’m not sure if it was a lack of effort against some of these other teams or these guys just forgot what it takes to win. Most teams can make wide open 3 point shots but we didn’t allow Clemson to get many good looks. Tonight reminded me why I love watching these guys. And Ron was unstoppable. I would like to understand why it took 7 games to get Jalen in there? I heard Pikiell mention he was going to redshirt but with the portal; does that even make sense anymore? I could understand redshirting a college quarterback, but not a fast kid like Jalen who could have maybe helped us get some huge stops against umass and DePaul? It didn’t make sense?

I'd be perfectly happy to give Pike credit. However, for what it's worth, I didn't watch the game because the team has not been entertaining. So ... sure, all credit to Pike. I'm sure he's fixed everything that resulted in losses to Lafayette and UMass.

EDIT: Don't worry, this thread totally won't be bumped multiple times in the next two weeks.

Fun game for all the reasons mentioned here.

One thing that concerned me was hearing that Pike wanted to redshirt Miller. This isn’t football. I’d be happy if Pike never redshirted another player. I wonder if this is another little thing that hurts his recruiting, and/or reveals a weakness in his recruiting.

I’ll give credit where it is due. For one game, the systemic issues (long and short term) were forgotten. Pike coached well and we were much more prepared and ready to meet the moment.
Now string together some quality wins and some consistency and I’ll be happy to say I was wrong. After lafamasspaul, I’m not really to say that yet.

This^^^^. I won’t pick on kyk because there were a bunch of them calling for pikes head but you are correct it was just ridiculous. I just wish the morons on this board would just calm the F down. In Pike we trust!

It was indeed based on the intent to redshirt him. Apparently he came to Pike’s office the other day and said he wanted to play.

Calling it like it is WAY different then sky is falling we will finish last/never win another game posts. Bottom line is no one should over react to a win or loss. Let the season play out. That said it was great seeing important shots made last night

There were lots of sky is falling posts last week. Some even came from posters who are usually the voices of reason. It was an epic meltdown and I am glad it is over….for now.

I always support the team. But again, its okay to support the team while also being critical of them and pointing out flaws where warranted.

Upset is one thing, complete nuclear meltdown wanting Pike fired is another. I was upset too.
We’re called fanatics for a reason. Maybe recruit better and don’t lose to a team ranked worse than 300 and there wouldn’t be a meltdown. Again, our bad for being upset after only dropping 51 to Lafayette. We’ll be more gentle next time

I’m certainly not calling for Pike’s head, but he signed himself up for criticism by advertising a roster capable of losing multiple home cupcake games as his “best team ever”. One clunker is one thing - we lost 3 games to terrible teams and eeked out a nail biter win in another. Clearly his starting point was not in the best ever league - no matter how you spin it.
