One fan's observations of non game related stuff.

Love the buy the water by the case crowd. Lotta condo and apartment dwellers don't have the "luxury" of storing cases of water. The issue is $6.00 bottles of water. Although no one begruges RU a profit, $6.00 is ridiculous.
Do you live in one of those tiny homes on HGTV? How small could an apartment be that you don't have room for a case of water to be stored for a day or two? Under your bed? In a closet? How about the bathtub?

Remember the caps must be on to bring water into the stadium.

Now that really makes no sense whatsoever!!!

They remove the caps on a bottle when you buy it in the stadium, but if you bring it in from the outside, you have to have a cap on all the bottles??!!

Shows you just how stupid that rule is!!!

Someone should get to Hobbs and make him realize just how ridiculous this rule is.

Not only for HPSS, but for the RAC too!!!

No room because all my storage space is reserved for the coming apocalypse.

arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :weary:
People who've had to deal with large bureaucracies know better than to complain about inconsistently illogical things because they are almost always fixed to be more consistently illogical. Now that folks have contacted Hobbs about this, we can look forward to (a) a ban on bringing any liquid into the stadium with or without caps and (b) being strip-searched to check for bottle caps.

Also, we can expect the $6 water bottles to be reduced in price to $4 while being reduced in volume by half. [roll]

I received a fan feedback email from RU . Fill out and sent your comments
The $6 water were 1 liter bottles. Smaller sizes available for $4.
The pulled pork sandwich was delicious for 7.00
Short pregame intro.
I could feel the heat from the fire intro.

Where was the pulled pork stand, will try it next week? The Falafel Bowl sucked. The worst part was the cold rice in the bowl, which must be two day old leftovers from a Chinese restaurant. Doesn't anyone who devises these recipes put the food in their mouth before they sell it to the unsuspecting public.

a day or two ? You drink a whole case of water sometimes in just one day ? that's impressive in a weird way.

Some of you are not too bright.
(Maybe that is how one comes to be called Bubba.)
Only capped bottles allowed in = It is about alcohol, not the throwing hazard.
Now them taking the caps at the stands really is stupid but that is a separate issue.

Are you saying the alcohol concerns with uncapped bottles being brought in outweigh the safety concerns with capped bottles being brought in?

If you don't like $4 water, there are numerous water fountains around the stadium where water is free! (Not the coldest ever, but good enough)
Anyone try the kale veggie burgers?
Unless I missed it, there are still no water fountains upstairs on the East Side.

Also on a side note...that chopper flyover before the game was awesome. Shocked I didn't see a thread about it.
Yes it was. Very cool.

Nice post...
Yeah nice post because he said this...

7. God Bless the New DJ. Bruce and Badlands! Fabulous! Some Ramones and Bon Jovi: New Jersey/ New York strong and smart. Song that sounded like bad tuba's/horns awful. "We're Having a Party" after a win please! Local band, the Rogues' jig version of Alma Mater is worth a listen. Changing words to Alma Mater is awful. Neutral on the DJ - liked Yoshi, liked the new guy - anything but hearing horrible marching band music for me.

We know how much you just love marching band style music. LOL

Hey, thanks for questioning my intelligence. Would you like to know were I got my degree from, my SAT scores, etc? And since you brought it up, "Bubba" is a term of endearment in parts of the country.

I am a rule follower as the cap was on my son's bottle, and we respectfully, though begrudgingly, threw the bottle out. Again, I could have returned to the car, put two sips of water back in the bottle, sealed it up tight, and no one would have known.

If, as you say, its an issue of alcohol consumption, though I understand the concern, discretion and judgment can be used on the officers part. A 9 year old walking in with the red "smiley" face from Gatorade, or an 80 year old woman drinking a bottle, on a day when the temps were over 90 can and should get a "look the other way". If I was walking in with a bunch of my buddies, showing visible signs of excessive consumption, I would understand enforcing the rule.

In the end, it cost me $4 bucks, which is obviously not a big deal. I mentioned these as odd rules with a seemingly lack of logic and inconsistencies in enforcement.

Players at the Scarlet Walk:

Jackets
Rutgers ties
No cell phones
No headphones
Smiling
Engaging
They walked directly onto the field & up thru the tunnel to the locker room
Well done & classy
Mrs. Screw, how was this different from before? I've only been to a game three years ago (homecoming game) and one last year. It seems if this is different, this must be the way Ash's other schools have done it. Agree, very classy.

I was in the front row of Blue. There seemed to be a bit more room for tailgating. Never saw the cops come buy on their ATV. I thin I only saw cops walk through once actually.
They drove 2 ATV's down the lane about 10-10:30, but that was the only time I saw them.

$6.00 behind 124, 125, 126 in "Hydration Station" Ridiculous and RU should be a bit ashamed. No smaller size available there. Rogues version on internet and posted on Facebook. Have no idea how to do a link on this site. Lol!
Hydration station but only if you pay $6.00. If not it is a dehydration station. If you do shell it out your wallet will become dehydrated.

Last year:
sweat suits, carrying their equipment bags, not very engaging with the fans, walking in a group, headphones most off, some on, cell phones in plain view

THIS YEAR:
jackets, ties, dress pants, dress shoes, single line, smiling, only a few headphones around the neck, none on, no cell phones, engaging with the fans:

The thread is about (or at least has turned into) bringing liquids into a game. He's talking about buying a case of water for the game. If you do your tailgate shopping a couple days before, that's how long you have to sit on it in your apartment.

I bought a bag of ice and and a 24pack on my way to the game. They cost $5.

$6 is not crazy for a liter of water at a sporting event, let alone one in the northeast. That's over four cups of water for anyone doing the math.

Also, Rutgers was giving away FREE bottled water inside the cooling zones. They announced this several times. I was in a tent for 15 minutes and EMS was bringing case after case of water, and they were flying out just as fast. I'm sure they probably ran out after awhile, but that was more than most could ask for.

"You guys" have a hard time understanding the difference between things that matter.

6 bucks for a bottle of water is robbery. Period.

Aren't you on record saying that you need at least 8 cars to be happy? I think if you went with an Accord instead of the Audi, you wouldn't be complaining about the water!
[cheers]

5 cars. And as a general rule I don't drink a lot of water. Except for "proofing water".

It's water on a HOT day. $6 is way too much. What is the percent mark-up ?

one suggestion is that they start handing out the big garbage bags when you pull into the lot (atleast in Blue they seem to have stopped doing it this season). Someone came through the aisle the first game, but not the 2nd.

That was actually a really good idea, handing out the garbage bags as you pulled in. I guess it's gone the way of the Alley.

I guess that's a small perk of donating a little more for yellow than blue, haha :scream::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
lol - for my money, by far the biggest perk is the 5-10 minute exit time, regardless of the outcome. I hate sitting in traffic, especially after a loss, and hated the 60-90 minute waits to exit blue (which actually was and probably still is my favorite lot, aside from that).
