OT: 2024 CFB TV ratings

It's all good. I was actually a little disappointed that more people didn't take a swing at my goofy comment which was intended to draw some funny responses at my expense.
sometimes you have to have fun with it
would much rather make fun of you being a Porsche guy an all lol

What's the difference between a Porsche and a porcupine?

With a porcupine, the pricks are on the outside.

hahaha that is awesome, hadn't heard that one before

back to ratings, RU is ahead of last year and we finished 47th in the country.
Regardless of Greg's abilities as a coach, if the team can find a way to win 2 more games, we should be finish better than last year and that's without OSU, PSU, and MICH.

interesting

Not sure if they will put out a table for week 10 but article has a bunch of numbers in it.

Since sportsmedia watch only had the article above and didn't post week 10 tv ratings in a table (don't know if they will or not going foward), I found another place that has a table. Can't copy/paste this one but here's the link to the table showing week 10 ratings.

Wondered if the election being last week impacted the normal business practices for that Sportsmedia’s site, or they just immediately changed their way of reporting things.

The guy who runs it did say at the beginning of the season he may not keep doing it all season. Didn’t sound like he was going to do it at all this season but since some wanted it he did. But he did it with no promises that it would continue all year.

So it may or may not come back, I don’t know. If I find numbers from other sources I’ll post them, if not oh well lol.

So this is the ESPN Spin....
Alabama LSU had no B10 competion as those B10 games were on BTN and Peacock.
12PM game had 2 B10 games.

I suspect Indiana Michigan did 3-4M
OhioSt Purdue 3.0-3.5M
Rutgers Minny 1.5M-2.0M
ESPN has done well with their SEC package this year. At least in year 1, it looks like it was worth that hefty price they paid.

CBS was very dumb losing the SEC

ESPN paid a hefty Price for the SEC game of the week.
They are still paying pennies on the dollar for the rest of the games for the next 10 years.

The image below is a little outdated, but still applies. TX and OK did not results in redoing what SEC and ESPN had already agreed to... ESPN just matched the per team payouts for the 2 new schools.

THat is why SEC trying to add a 9th game for more money.. they are getting way less than the B10

It’s interesting watching tOSU Twitter lose their shit over yet another noon game. That tOSU/PSU wasn’t a night game was baffling to me - but presume those are the breaks when splitting btw 3 networks.

PSU's whiteout game against Washington this past weekend was a Peacock exclusive. You take the bucks, you follow orders lol.

Here's a full list from that other source I used above. Can't copy paste the table. Looks like 1.3M for the RU/Minn game.

Not bad. Sort of on par with FOX at 8 p.m. IOWA and UCLA. Sort of is a stretch. Here's the table, if it works.

I would not say better--maybe more persistent? I will have a function as your co/assistant AD, as long as I get my couch. 😜 . My special skills are:
-Cutting/pasting
-Couchsurfing rentals for coaches
-Accurately counting attendance at football games
-Gameday operations management
-Diverting excessive coach salaries to NIL

Surprised ND-FSU only 60% higher than RU-Minny, but i guess FSU sucks and everyone was watching Bama-LSU.
Similar to Clemson-Vtech.

Considering that there were 3 premium brands on ESPN/FOX/ABC, not bad. I was hoping for 1.5-2M though

That's a good source.. season-wise, eventually it will work its way into top post of this thread on Big Ten TV ratings..

But if you use Rutgersguy1 linked from tvmediablog above.. you will see of all the noon games, only the national-following programs were above us.. Texas, Ohio State and Miami.

There were 2 games on that list that were of interest but "not available". I'd expect that Indiana game to have gotten a lot of people checking them out, more than just Michigan's fan base who might even have tried to avoid watching at this point.

Not available:
Syracuse/Boston College Saturday 12PM CW
Michigan/Indiana Saturday 3:30PM CBS

those are excellent numbers for this game and this is stand alone, no OSU, PSU, MICH. RU was over 900k and MN was 1.3mm avg for games so we're right in line.

this is excellent if 1.3

Deleted the last week 11 table from sportsmediawatch. Looks like they've updated it now and also includes Michigan/Indiana numbers which was still missing from the other source.
