Just got back from Citifield!

As Frankie Valli said “ Oh What A Night !”

The crowd was electric !

Sean Maneaa was outstanding as was our defense and hitting !

With the exception of Phil Maton stinking it up again and raising my blood pressure unnecessarily- the night was flawless and stress free!

Let’s close it out tomorrow and get to the NLCS !

Let’s Go Mets !. .

My son was texting videos from Citi Field, it was crazy. In the 8th he said, oh no they're warming up Diaz, lol.

Well we wouldn’t have gotten to the playoffs without Maton - he stabilized things in the one. But lately he’s been a dud.

One of the positives from last night's game is Maton is unavailable today.

Padres may look scary right now... but they lost Musgrove, and the Dodgers' pitching is in bad shape right now. We could be fine against either opponent. Just get that 3rd Philly win first.

Have to respect any opponent at this time of year, but no team is as scary as the Mets are right now. Since June really.

Just my guess
JD could be higher after the hit the other night but he’s still not clicking.

Would love to see Alvarez connect on one of his 800ft HR swings !!! Or just go the other way and go 2-4 with a huge 2 run single

BTW - thinking about Lindor and his post season...His BA has not been great but he seems to be on base all the time and in the middle of everything.

Also- he has also just become a guy that affects the other team as soon as he is on-deck.

Bader or Taylor today? Tough call. Bader usually hits lefties pretty well. In an ideal scenario you'd play them both for defense but definitely need Marte in the lineup right now.
I don’t think Badger hits anything well

Diaz is so unreliable. Stanek is red hot. Obviously, Diaz is fresh and Stanek isn't. So you'd have to understand if Mendoza tried to close out game 4 with Diaz.

But if the Mets need to preserve a 9th inning lead in game 5 and he picks Diaz over Stanek, he's running the risk of undoing an entire season of goodwill with this fan.

Kinda like what a MVP does? 😎
Such a shame that Ohtani's number are just too crazy to ignore. But Lindor was by far the most valuable baseball player in the NL.

Ohtani wins it and deserves it but sucks to have a guy have a year in all phases of the game get beat by a DH.

The DH is half-a-player. That's like giving a punter the MVP for averaging over 60 yards a punt. It's never been done before, so you celebrate it as if it's the greatest accomplishment ever in the game. Never mind the RB who rushed for 1,400 yards and 16 TD to go along with 800 yards receiving and 6 TD. That's how I see Ohtani and Lindor.

Believe me- I feel the same way. But everyone has a love fest for the guy.

I agree in principle but not with the analogy. The punter on a football team is not in any way comparable to the focal point of a baseball team's offense.

Neither is a closer because to get the save others, batters and pitchers, put him that position in the first place. He certainly didn’t do it on his own.

And yet somehow one of them is the first unanimous HoF? Come on, man.

Rant over…#LGM!

Circle those at-bats by Iglesias and JD. Come on guys . You're veteran players. If you fish at it out of the strike zone once or twice, you should be looking for it in the same area and prepared to lay off of it I would think. That's the one way we can lose this game.

Game is giving bad vibes so far. Really need to settle down. Don't know what it's gonna take. Not trying to do too much is where it starts. That was the overriding sentiment in the post-game interviews last night. But you have to do it between the lines. But we've lost so many games by squandering chances.

The ump has tiny strike zone. Philly is taking the borderline pitch while the Mets are swinging at pitches out of the strike zone. Glavine and Maddox would get in this ump's @ss.

Conspiracy theory: MLB wants to keep the game interesting. The ump gets his marching orders to shrink the strike zone. Make the players put the ball in play for added excitement. 🤔 😁

Exactly how I feel.

The ump finally call that borderline pitch a strike. Only after Quintana has hit that spot like 10 times already and the ump refused to call it a strike until now.
