OT: 2024 NY Yankees Season Thread

The difference between 3-0 and 2-1 in a series is monumental. Tonight’s game may be a top 3 Yankee playoff cluster-Fs in my lifetime.
And tomorrow has a heartless performance written all over it as the Yanks go meekly into the night. Probably will lose 4-0 or 5-1 with only a handful of hits. Until I see differently, you can't trust a Cashman team in the playoffs.
Cleveland has to win a game in NY.
Everything is fine, but man, they got some guys that totally suck right now.

I can not believe Boone brought Holmes in,
to close after he proved he is not a closer.
I really think Boone is brain dead,
He didn't really bring him in to close. He brought him in to extend the game after Weaver blew it. It also saves Weaver for another game this series. Honestly, who else are you bringing in once the closer blows it?
I think it’s the soul-crushing way Yanks lost. Two outs up by two there is probably a <1% chance (statistically speaking) that Yanks will lose. After Weaver got hammered for what was almost a HR and they sent up the PH I had a feeling he would give up another hit to score that man from 2nd but the HR was shocking. Almost as if Weaver had no scouting report on the PH?
A lot of doom and gloom on here. Yes the Yankees lost a game after a great comeback. But that doesn't change that the Yankees are the better team and we still have a 2-1 lead. It's like many of you are giving up.

My beef was bringing Kahnle back to start the 8th.
Bottom of the order must have been Boone's thinking, Weaver would have been 3 up/3 down.
Getting a little concerned now that Weaver might be getting overworked.
lol - the camera work is absolutely horrendous. Every big swing by the Guardians is assumed to be a home run deep into the seats and it turns out to be a flyout.

If the Yankees win, it will be in spite of Boone, not because of him.

Huge credit to the bottom of the order. Rizzo choking up and getting things started in the 9th. Volpe continuing things with the single. Etc Etc. It’s nice to see things happen outside of Soto/Judge/Stanton.
Agreed. But after 40+ changeups over 2 games, wouldn’t a fastball look like it’s 200mph?
The bullpen is certainly getting a workout.
The nice part of this team is nearly everyone is contributing.
Just get Chisholm to contribute and the circle is complete.
Need a good showing from Rodon and wrap this up tomorrow to rest this bullpen.
Agree, wrap up series tomorrow night and if Mets can push it to 7 games….would be a big advantage for the Yankees
Hope not. His best pitch is essentially a batting practice pitch. Cleveland will probably figure it out.
