Going to Red Bulls game tonight. Looks like there’s a nice looking Portuguese bar on Frank Rogers Blvd

Any other suggestions in Harrison? Already been to most of the Newark places so wanted to try something new

Walk across bridge to Catas Grill. Drink with the Viking Army. March with them.to the game

They should’ve put the stadium of 287 somewhere neither Edison or Somerset somewhere. I would think they would get better attendance

So where did you end up? Kearny was full of local footy talent. I'm a little surprised they don't get more interest but they overestimated the appeal by a lot.

There are so few of them now as compared to the all-time high in 1973,the year that the drinking age was lowered to 18.That year, abandoned store fronts were converted into bars, all of them doing well until the demographics changed and new stringent DWI laws went into effect in the 80's.

Harrison was on Hitler's bombing list, rightfully so due to the number of defense plants in town. Those plants were what started the first bar building boom(BBB).

As I walk around town,I feel Sinatra like:"And there used to be a tavern right here."

Thanks for sharing that history.

It’s a shame that these family owned bars face so many State restrictions and fees.

Way too many corner pubs are closing around NJ.

O’Donnells still open?

I don't know about that place.

I forgot to add that my father met Jimmie Foxx in one of the bars in 1949.Foxx was a beer salesman then.
