In the Breeders Cup Classic Arrogate ran down California Chrome in the stretch to win by a 1/2 length but that was a 1 1/4 mile race, on Saturday the distance will be a 1 1/8 mile race. Also, Gulfstream Park is a speed favoring track which also helps Chrome. What a story for a Hollywood movie. A horse purchased for virtually nothing has generated $15 million (not including Saturday's race) in purses and is anticipated to generate $50 million in stud fees over the remainder of his life.

Looking forward to it. Yes Gulfstream is a "fast" track but it is also a dirt track. Big difference from the California synthetic racing surfaces.

Your analysis on the race? They say Baffert has been trying to get Arrogate to rate up until the final turn and then let's him loose to catch stablemate (who's 5 lengths ahead) in the stretch and he just caught him at the wire. I see the logic, but then I think, at a 1 1/8 mile CC is going to have a lot left in the tank. They say Shermann has been working CC out at Gulfstream and his fractions are litterly off the charts. I hope channel 4 NBC picks this up.

Both those guys know their horses. My only concern is Sherman tactic might have Chrome peaking to early. His work outs are eye popping. People there are literally stopping what they are doing and watching his works. Would love to see America embrace older horse races but don't see NBC live coverage. Could see break in spots to both NBC and NBC Sports as both are showing recorded events.
