Not my intent. I got called for jury duty last spring and experienced how crazy half remote and half live was for them. And I ended up not getting called.

I would greatly prefer to serve on juries via remote video-conference, actually. I dislike having to go sit in a dingy room at the courthouse with my unwashed peers on uncomfortable plastic chairs for hours.

Would much rather sit in the comfort of my home, watching and listening on one monitor while I post on this forum on another monitor, surf porn on a third monitor, and peruse stock tickers or whatever on a fourth.

I could be eating pizza and having a blast while I wait my turn to scream "GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY" and "I'M OUT OF ORDER? I'M OUT OF ORDER? THIS WHOLE FVCKING COURT IS OUT OF ORDER!" at the end of the trial.

Make it so.

If you got selected for case you had to go to the court house to serve. They were selecting a jury for an animal cruelty involving a lamb but I wasn't selected.

That would stop a lot of these frivolous lawsuits cold. If your case is found to be frivolous you must pay all court costs. Every scumbag looking for a quick buck would think twice.

I know a lot of states allow sanctions but I'm sure standards vary. This one seems like a poster child, but I don't know the NY specifics.

Completely agree. Other countries do this with frivolous lawsuits, but most judges here refuse to enact that.
