OT: Favorite Bingeable/ Weekly Show Right Now…

Yeah, 1883 is a great show.

Yellowstone is probably my favorite show right now.

For All Mankind is the most entertaining thing I’ve seen on Apple +. Def check it out.

The Narcos series on Netflix are excellent, as is Peaky Blinders.

Ozarks is boring.

If you need to watch something with the ladies then Ted Lasso and Acapulco on Apple +.

If you need to eat an edible and watch something with the ladies then Schmiggadoon on Apple +.

What's the best way to watch this? I watched the first 2 episodes on Hulu... but now they're all behind a paywall on Paramount that I don't need or want.

We've been watching Succession on HBO... halfway through season 2. Really liking it so far.

Band of Brothers, must watch probably everyone has

Game of Thrones
Homeland
House of Cards
The Americans
Humans (AMC Series)
Breaking Bad
The Sopranos
Dexter
The Last Kingdom
Peaky Blinders
Ray Donovan
The Pacific

I loved the first 2 seasons of Succession and got my wife hooked on it. She just binged through the new season as I was in the other room watching Friday Night Lights. I tried to catch a couple of episodes but for some strange reason- just couldn't get into this past season at all.

"Top Boy" needs a shout-out on threads like this. Great drug show to binge after Narcos, Ozark, etc. Has some parallels with The Wire, too.

British show from like a decade ago, then brought back by Netflix (and Drake!) a couple years ago. Gritty look at London drug dealer scene.

Haven't read the whole thread, so not sure if it was mentioned but Big Mouth is pretty hilarious. It's animated so maybe not your thing, but it's great.

Don’t know. I sprung for the $5 per month for Paramount +. It is worth it.

Can't wait. Unfortunately the actress who played Aunt Polly passed away last year.
Helen McCrory, yes a real shame. She was great in that role. Didn't realize at first she also played Mrs. Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies.

Amazon Prime has Paramount+. That’s how I watched it.

Paramount+ free on Amazon?
I think so Tico, I just pay for Amazon Prime don't ever remember paying for Paramount+, it's in the YOUR CHANNELs section so I guess it's just included in Prime subscription

For some reason my Paramount+ does not have all the seasons. Big time frustrating

If you have Apple+, Mythic Quest is a lot of fun. Stars Rob McElhenney from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and shares much of the writing/production team from IASIP. It is two seasons so far plus a couple of COVID gaps episodes that were awesome. Not as edgy as Sunny, but more so than say The Office. Takes place in a company that designs and produces video games.
I generally hate everything Apple.. but Apple+.. whoever is picking their projects.. good job. Love Mythic Quest, For All Mankind (which I hope gets another season), Ted Lasso, The Morning Show... all home runs.. and I have to check out more of them

I finally got Yellowstone watching figured out...first 3 seasons are on Peacock and season 4 is on Paramount +
I was confused because I was talking about 1883 not Yellowstone. But yes, Yellowstone is quite captivating. My wife started off watching it with me, as I began watching during the premiere. Then once all the killing started, she stopped. It seems the killing just keeps ratcheting up. Glad you were able to figure it out its quality viewing.

I'm into season 2 of Yellowstone now and has anyone else noticed that Yellowstone = Succession?
Almost same plot- characters- family structure etc

Yeah, except if Beth Dutton was in the Roy family instead of Shiv, she’d be CEO and all her siblings would either be dead or in jail.

Succession’s a good show but half of the dialogue involving the Roy kids is a derivation of : “Hey, are we good? Yeah, OK? You sure? Cool! ….(we’re fvcked)”. It gets tedious.

You know, if I hadn’t watched both shows, both would stand on their own as great. But since I watched Succession first and now Yellowstone- it is annoying the hell out of me.
they really are the exact same show but on different sides of the country.

Whoever recommended Tehran (Apple+) - thank you. Great show. So tense. I tend to love Israeli spy shows.

Here are few shows I can recommend - maybe on the less obvious side:

The Spy (2019 Netflix)
Chernobyl (HBO)
The Americans (Prime)
Hell on Wheels (Prime)

I watched Tehran. It got a little campy but still decent.

Chernobyl was amazing.

Don’t watch Suspicion or Afterparty on Apple. Both are God-aweful.

Severence is promising, 3 episodes in.

Vikings Valhalla is out. Watched the first 3 episodes yesterday. A different feel from the original series... less time spent on background storyline, but it's been a good watch nonetheless.

Hit and Run on Netflix.. by the people behind Fauda which became Homeland on.. Showtime?

Good stuff if you are okay with the main male character. If you dislike him for any reason, well, he is everywhere. If you liked Homeland this has not disappointed in 5 episodes I have caught thus far. Has that "what is really going on" thing going for it.
