OT: Favorite Christmas Songs

I loved the sound of handbells at Christmas, and I couldn’t find a Christmas album that features that sound, so a few years ago I decided to produce and record a Christmas album that featured - you guessed it - the sound of handbells!

According to the analytics from Apple Music and Spotify, my traditional Christmas album has a large audience of followers in Japan! You can listen to the album for free on YouTube:

Thanks Source - love those bells! I wonder if they recorded an album as well. I wanted to record another Christmas album this year, this time featuring music boxes. I didn’t have enough time (when I did the handbells album, I learned that Christmas albums are recorded in August - I didn’t do mine until November!).

A few years ago, I made a video of Christmas scenes in New York using music from the album. It shows NYC Christmas events, before the pandemic. Here is the video:

I'm pretty sure there's a big, wide-open market for good Hanukah songs. When you have to rely on Adam Sandler.... well... that's just pathetic.

We had our annual Christmas singalong Saturday and played many favorites, both traditional and popular. Had two guitars, a piano, and bells.

Traditional included O Holy Night, Angels We Have Heard on High, O little Town of Bethlehem, Good King Wencles (sp), Silent Night and some others.

Popular included I’ll be Home for Christmas, Please Come Home for Christmas, Santa Baby, What are You Doing NewYears Eve, Linus and Lucy, Christmas Time is Here, Baby Please Come Home, The River, Jingle Bell Rock, Run Run Rudolph, All I Want for Christmas is You (Vince Vance and the Valients), The Christmas Song, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, and a few more. Great fun!
