OT: Loud boom in NJ today

Been busy with work today (and did not hear it), but saw reports from Bergen County to Ocean County of a loud boom around 11:20 AM today. Saw some speculation it was a fireball/meteor or sonic boom from a military jet offshore. Anyone hear it?

I was out walking my dog and may have heard it. Heard something anyway.

Was one "boom" sound followed by a short series of rumbling sounds. The rumbling sounded a bit like thunder in the distance.

It was confirmed as a meteor travelling 38,000 mph from Manhattan to approximately Mountainside. Slightly faster than NJ Transit would travel the same distance.

Guess the meteor was fleeing the city, just like people during the pandemic.
