OT: New York Mets 2022-2023 Off Season Thread

2017-2021 so including his bad year. 28th in all of baseball with 16.3 fWAR. 34th in wRC+ at 127 where 100 is average. I'd say a top 30-35 player/hitter is in the upper level.

If you want to take out his below average by his standards 2021 and use 2017-2020 then he looks even better. 22nd in fWAR with a 14.9 and 25th in wRC+ with a 133. Now will he get back to that level after a whole year off because of injury I have no idea but let's not downplay his past accomplishments.
If you are going to remove his worst year should also remove his best year.

I chose to stop attending games and I won’t buy any merchandise either

I’ve had enough of MLB ripping off fans plus when they moved the ASG
I 100% agree with you on moving the All Star Game, total bullshit when they did that. They bowed down to all that woke bull$hit. You seem to be totally honest, so with that said, you should never throw around that 27 number since many were won when the Yankees did what the Mets are doing now.Merry Christmas

I gave both. Including 2021 still a top player. Including his first full year of 2016 still 38th. Top 40 player in all of baseball. What do you consider upper level then?

Top player, no. Good player, yes. One who could be part of a winning team but not one to build around.
Ok well there are probably only 10-15 hitters you can "build around", maybe less. I agree he's not one of those. If you mean that by upper level player then sure. He's clearly in Tier 2 though.

Don’t remove either. A plus fielder with a lifetime .824 OPS
When healthy- he is a top player. The only concern with him at the moment, is health.
For someone that compared to Hicks…just that statement alone should nullify your baseball opinions..,

Yes, that would be my upper level.
I would have to say that is elite- upper level is in the top 30 players. If you go top 30- that is equal to picking one player per team.
I’m not saying I start a team with a healthy Conforto but he isn’t, what someone called, a bad player.

When did I compare him to Hicks? Actually didn’t compare him to any player. Stop making stuff up.

Getting back to Correa and the Mets ruining baseball, lol. It's not like the Giants offered $325mil and the Mets signed him for $400 mil. The Mets paid market price.

Yep- didn’t just go outbid someone. Boras even mentioned that Steve is the only one who didn’t go to bed during that short window. Other team owners and GM’s went to bed hoping to continue in the morning but the Mets just outworked them.

A couple of very good SS came off the board this winter. If Volpe isn't the next great homegrown SS, Cashman will be in deep deep, oh wait, never mind, he got a nice extension😁.

Get this done and the revenue stream will be endless. It'll be a all in one vacation destination. It's easy to see why the other MLB owners were/are so butt hurt this man has joined MLB. Watch he doesn't spread his wings and buy a NFL franchise. Is there really any stopping what Uncle Stevie is capable of doing? 😁 https://nypost.com/2022/11/19/mets-owner-steve-cohen-betting-big-on-nyc-casino/

They need to be 100% comfortable with this level of investment or they should renegotiate or walk. If the Twins have a standing offer of 10/285 then maybe they get him back.

2008 is hyperventilating lol
Hardly Zip code. Uncle Stevie will just pivot to a player the Yankees can't afford, lmfao. Steve Cohen a local LI guy grew up with Yankees fans like you so I'm pretty confident he will stick it to the Yankees whenever he can which means any time he wants for a player he really wants, making the Yankees over pay just in case Cohen is yanking Hal's chain. If anything you should be embarrassed by your homophobic joke you made about how Correa got injured. Stay classy disgruntled Yankees fan.

I agree it is still likely, but the terms may be altered.

Yup. Reports that Cohen is buying damaged goods. Trying to get out of the deal now. Amateur hour in Flushing.

Merry Christmas!
Cohen does not have to try to get out of the deal, because there is no deal - yet. If he wants out, which I doubt, he walks away. Just as the Mets did with Kumar Rocker.

This was one of your weaker trolling efforts.
