Starting to look like last year again...This injury list is getting more ridiculous by the day.
WTF?
That's the kind of trade the Boss would have made in a heartbeat, but I wouldn't either. Blackmon is an amazing hitter but he's an outfielder. We have too many already. Also he's 34, makes $19mm and has a player option for 22 and 23. The payroll is already out of control. Plus, the Yanks would then have a hole at third. As much as I love Blackmon's bat, I don't really think the trade would be a very good fit from an area of need perspective. You wouldnt trade Geo for a Blackman??? I really can't believe any baseball person could possibly say that with a straight face.
Understood and knew someone would point the age. But in the true context of what my point had been in the other thread, is that There wouldnt have been many Yankees over the past 30 years not named Jeter or Mo that you wouldn't trade for Blackman. It was meant in context as a player and career. That's the kind of trade the Boss would have made in a heartbeat, but I wouldn't either. Blackmon is an amazing hitter but he's an outfielder. What kind of drills and conditioning should they have been doing in the down time in April/May? It'sMLB, for Chrissake. Paxton needs to stop making excuses and get in shape.Starting to look like last year again...
Not sure if there is a thing as "too much weight room" maybe not training correctly in the weightroom but more likely, MLB players push their bodies past the point where they should be.What kind of drills and conditioning should they have been doing in the down time in April/May? He better. He's a free agent at the end of this season. What kind of drills and conditioning should they have been doing in the down time in April/May? It'sMLB, for Chrissake. Paxton needs to stop making excuses and get in shape.

Tanaka's also a free agent at the end of the season. At this rate, I highly doubt they'll be serious bidders for Paxton in the offseason unless it's at a discount. I like him, but these injuries are a concern cause he'll be looking for money.
Well it's not letting "him walk". Paxton has the control where he wants to play. I don't think he's enjoyed his time in NYC. He is one of many that can't handle being a Yankee.Tanaka's also a free agent at the end of the season.
Not knowing what to expect from Severino and German next year and not wanting another year of Happ, can the Yankees really consider letting Paxton walk ?
I think that's why Tanaka will re-sign in NY. He likes it here and can work out a 3-4 year deal that works for everyone.Well it's not letting "him walk". Paxton has the control where he wants to play. I don't think he's enjoyed his time in NYC. He is one of many that can't handle being a Yankee.
Not tomorrow!More rainouts your injured players will be back.
Not sure how any team runs a gauntlet like that without seriously over-working the bullpen.Yankees now with doubleheaders to play Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with single games in between. Oy! Veh!
Between Paxton and Happ... it looks like two guys throwing batting practice. Paxton certainly has been less than advertised. The staff looks good for next season with German and Severino back at full strength. But, that's obviously a BIG if.Well it's not letting "him walk". Paxton has the control where he wants to play. Hicks .192Today it looked like the Yankees bats were boycotting the double header.
Has any team ever played so many guys hitting under .200 ?
I said that when it happened.Cybernetics lost this game. No reason to take out Tanaka. 66 pitches ugh!
It'd be interesting to see what he could bring back. A very strong hitter but might only be a DH going forward, would be good for the Yankees if the NL keeps the DH it increases his potential market.Andujar on the trading block. One reporter thinks he needs a change on scenary. I have to agree.
Yankees’ Miguel Andujar won’t pan out as backup, scout predicts | ‘A change of scenery might be good’
Yankees third baseman/left fielder Miguel Andujar was optioned to the Triple-A camp on Thursday with two hits in 21 at-bats over eight games.www.nj.com
Sanchez needs to also. Some players are just done when they hit 35.Gardner needs to retire.
They did get on their kneesToday it looked like the Yankees bats were boycotting the double header.

Andujar is so limited, defensively, and he needs a hot streak because now he can't have much value. It'd be interesting to see what he could bring back. A very strong hitter but might only be a DH going forward, would be good for the Yankees if the NL keeps the DH it increases his potential market.
Game One lineup for Yanks hasHicks 192
Gardner .172
Andujar .160
Sanchez .139
Ford .163
Wade .185
