I was just reading the terms of Green's deal. That's a lot of money to sink into a guy who's not going to pitch much this year if at all, nor do you know how he's gonna come back from the injury. I don't see any offensive improvement going into spring training.There are too many starters returning that had batting averages less than .250.

The Yankees were almost exactly league average in BA. League average was .243 Yankees hit .241. They were first in runs scores in the AL which is more important than BA, and 5th in OBP in baseball (2nd in the AL). Not sure how much improvement they really in on offensive.

But it begs the question. What were those numbers in the 2nd half and more importantly, playoffs. The Yanks are going to win 95+ every year. But they were 2 different teams last year on offense.
