OT: New York Yankees 2022-2023 Off Season Thread

I have an answer stupid. From the day Cashman traded for Stanton is completely open to find out on the Yankees threads. If you really want to find out those answers do the research yourself. All the threads can be seen. The funny thing is you don't do research! You posted Google is your friend and your next post said the Yankees had 19 WS before divisional play! !🤣🤣🤣🤣 Apparently Google actually hates you. You post $29 million. Google saw you have limited abilities and played you lol.
Your are too stupid to realize that your really stupid. Lol. You are the guy people being polite say "he is off" or "the elevator doesn't make it to the top floor "
Keep playing the game stupid. You have never won an argument on here 😂
"""Again stupid crap from you. Never said anything but a ring is a failure."""Still haven't explained what a successful Yankee season is, so I'm going with you hate Cashman for more than Stanton, it's not winning a World Series for 13 years. Go ahead, you can admit it. Call me any name you want, you know I got you in a box. You hate the man, and really don't know how to explain it other than Stanton sucks and Cashman won't answer your phone calls. They make the playoffs EVERY year, so I call bullshit, phony answer. As NY Yankees #1 expert, what's a successful Yankees season? Answer Shortbus, your trapped into a real answer, lol. .
it's a trap cat GIF

Wow. You are really stupid. The answer is in the Yankees threads since the Staton trade. Got me in a box?? Don't know what you mean but I've destroyed your inaccurate posts the last few days!! Lol you think really have won any posts?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣😌You been a baseball clown the last few days, Mr $29 million, Mets fan who refused to ignore the facts about the Mets employee was the central guy in the Mitchell Report.
And stupid to think I have any interest calling the Yankees. So you are dumb ass stupid and creepy calling the Mets 🙄🙄

Simple Stupid, what's a successful Yankees season? That's all I'm asking and you can't provide an answer. Get back in the box moron. It's a ring or it's a failure, admit it.

So riddle me this, if anything less than a ring isn't failure what is? Your hate for Cashman can't be blamed on that so what is it? Do his teams make the playoffs every year?Check. Do his teams advance in the playoffs?Check Do his teams make it to The ALCS most years?Check. What's left that drives you to hate him so much? Don't tell me it's at least making it to the World Series, lmfao since Yankee fans bust on Mets fans for bringing up 1/2 the league has made it there since the last time the Yankees have graced us with their participation. kbee, care to chime in on this? Explain what a successful Yankees season is Shortbus. Backed you into a corner, lets see you bull$hit your way out of this one.😁
“Riddle me this” Lol what is this guy 10. Guy/kid puts a lot of words together but doesn’t say sh!t.
Met fans should kick you to the curb you’re getting rag dolled in this thread.

Mets need to be pointing at Rutgers-type goals, not Yankees goals.

Otherwise every season is pure fail.

And no, I was never a "Championship or nothing" NYY fan. What's the point; no one wins a WS every year.

You can't just wave a magic wand and add 3 contact hitters to the team. The offense will stay virtually the same with some youth in the middle infield at some point and possibly another OF at some point. I'm sure they'll add a piece to the bullpen before the season starts too. I don't think they are going to add a true closer. They'll hope Holmes comes back healthy and just throw arms in the high 90's at the situation and hope for the best.
Thanks- any chance you think they try to make a trade at this point. Not much left with FA’s.

Hardly RUzipcode. If I've proven anything it's that Shortbus can't provide an answer on what a successful Yankee season is, only that he hates Cashman because of Stanton and kbee now knows there are Yankees fans,{ clearly none he's met, lol} that on here, in this thread, admit nothing "short" of a ring is a failure. I see it as a win win.

I do agree that from both sides- all very stale

But still would love to hear more from you guys on what is needed next to get over the hurdle. Or have the Yanks done enough to make you feel good going into the season?

We need less Mets fans on this thread. Your buddy shit the bed on here this weekend. Yet you still support his lame views. You do not support both sides at all. Stop with your nonsense. You supported his $29 million mistake.

Judges #62 homerun ball gets $1.5 mil at auction.
Pete Alonsos #40 was bid at 29 mil by the genius 2008 guy $😂💰💰💲

LMFAO. I shit the bed? You can't state what a good Yankee season is and kbee never heard a Yankee fan say it's win the World Serie or the season is a failure. Now you got a new buddy RUzipcode, better know as "Smalls" from The Sandlot swinging from your scrotum and I shit the bed. Too funny.

Calm down the Yankees have won one WS in 23 years. Let's not act you are a successful franchise like the Giants or Red Sox. After all, winning WS titles is all that matters. At least that is what my Yankee fan friends have always told me.
I don't know a single Yankees fan that thinks a WS title is all that matters. I only hear that crap from loser Mets fans, most of whom weren't even alive the last time their team won a WS.
1986 was sooooo long ago.
Talk about clueless.

Seriously, can’t you just ignore it and talk Yankee baseball?
I don’t even remember $29 mil.

I only asked what you thought you still needed to do this off season to feel good about 2023 or if you feel you are in good shape.

Damn, you are a dim bulb. I said that I don't know a single Yankees fan who claims that it's not a successful season unless the Bronx Bombers win the World Series. I was referring to people I actually know. Not posters on a friggin message board. Don't take it personal folks, but I don't consider someone I interact with on a message board as someone I KNOW. For all I KNOW half of you could be 13 year old girls....mostly the Mets fans.

Bizarre his focus on a single question that isn't important and only he cared about. Then going into a rage over it. Typing in bolded letters and demanding answers to his stupid question which is why I'll never answer it because it bothers him so much 🤣
If one fan of any sport says something about the team he believes that all fans feel the same way. What??? He is really stupid.

So- let me get this straight then- the most successful single season for NY baseball over the past decade is 2015?

I hadn't really thought about it. But why would you think I'd be interested in discussing with a Mets fan what was the Yankees most successful season over the past decade ?

Joey Gallo signs with the Twins. Gets a $1mill raise from last year. A season in which he batted .160 and struck out 40% of his at bats.
Was surprised that MLB Hot Stove crew thinks he is going to have a great year because of the elimination of the shift.
Listen they know more about baseball then all of us combined but the three of them thinks he can hit between .240 and .260
I certainly don't. He is a career. 199 hitter, has only batted over .240 once in his career. 7 seasons under .200 and his top 3 years of HRs avg .205.
Plus he isn't a great outfielder anymore. Good luck Twins.

He is over the hill and fading, but also the textbook player that has been hurt by the shift. Looking forward to next season and the rule changes!

It hurts his average but the shift wasn't abig thing when he was good in the beginning yet still barely at .200
Add in that 40% of his at bats were strikeouts, the shift wasn't his biggest problem.
It will be interesting to see the overall change in batting averages this year. On the Yankees I think the guy that will benefit the most is Rizzo.

completely agree as missing the ball doesn't get helped by where the defense is positioned. But only in baseball can you hit .160 and get a raise

Gallo batting .250 seems extremely unlikely. Last season he struck out 47% of his at-bats (and 40% of his plate appearances.) His career at-bat strikeout rate is 44%

If next season he gets his SO% back down to his career% of 44% he would need to bat .449 on balls put in play to bat .250 overall. Coincidentally, Aaron Judge batted that same .449 on balls put in play in 2022 (while striking out 33% of his at-bats). I don't think anyone sees Gallo realistically matching Judge's balls put in play%.

If by some miracle Gallo can cut his SO% from his career rate of 44% down to equal Judge's 2022's 33%, Gallo would still need to bat .373 on balls put in play to bat .250 overall. Gallo's career average on balls put in play is .358...So yeah, I'd be willing to make a wager with the MLB Hot Stove crew that Gallo won't be hitting .250 next season.

Gallo was all about on base percentage. Striking out ain't gonna help beat the shift. His skills are most likely fading is why he's striking out more. No shame in that. I can't believe anyone paid that much to take a flyer on him.

Matt Carpenter signs with San Diego. He was a great story, very productive when in the lineup but without other players getting hurt has no spot in the lineup.

I was hoping they could find a way to find room for him....possibly as a dh vs. righties.

Loved carpenter but might have been a flash in the pan he was brutal in playoffs. But great swing for Yankee stadium.

My gut tells me, he won’t have the same type of year again. But you do need to find someone other than Judge for a spark. Maybe one of the kids?

Oswaldo Cabrera in left field. Oswald Peraza at shortstop. Both should benefit from the new rules on holding runners. Both play excellent defense. Both have some power as well.
Eventually Volpe for Donaldson or Torres.

If you could get both and DJ at least closer to his old self rather than the past couple of years and the team looks so much better.
