OT: New York Yankees 2022-2023 Off Season Thread

That’s probably true. And the Yanks last WS is also 23 years more recent than the Mets’ last WS. You might be able to claim the cordless phone innovation. Or maybe the advent of the answering machine.
Gotta pull out the VHS tape to re-watch that one.

Obviously the video quality will be awful, but did the MLB even broadcast in stereo at that point? I remember it was still a pretty big deal in the late 80s/early 90s, what with the "In Stereo" designation advertised at the beginning of shows.

Pretty sure I had one of those $2500 Motorola’s that were $5 per minute. Lol

Yeah- even had motels with color tv and vibrating beds lol. I didn’t even have to wake up in the middle of the night to pee lol

It is why we will enjoy it so much in 23.,,😜

Mets fans never learn....get your hopes up in the offseason only to be shot down in the end....for 36 years.

They are Super delusional. One of them posted that next years all star game will be them vs the field😳.
Even if theyre that Fd up to to think that - as Met fans-how do you let your fingers actually type it!!!!!WTF🤣😭

One thing that I've learned about Mets fans since 1962....never pay attention to their opinion of the Bronx Bombers. Jealousy is an ugly thing.
Mets fans need to learn:

Hell, Yankees had made me a ton of money and I have enjoyed their winning seasons. My company had seats(I believe it was section 122 on the visitor side . 2nd row of the section and first 4 seats on the aisle.
I had clients there 20 games a year regular season and always 1 of each playoff/WS rounds.

There is no reason for jealousy- I always want either Mets/yanks/jets/giants/nets/knicks etc to win over anyone else.
Jeter is one of my all time favorite baseball players.

But, I am a Mets fan. I do like to have some time to bust balls with Yankee friends. And they always have ammo over me. It is sort of like a tailgate at home where you have fun with division rivals.
At this point though, both teams are good and it becomes much more fun for real fans. You and I have nothing to do with the outcome and the outcome has nothing to do with us.
Why cant you have some fun, talk some baseball, bust balls without throwing beers?
I’ll leave at that. I will still talk baseball and hope to get a view of fans on here that know more about the Yankees than I do.
Have some fun and just lighten up.

Cole
Rodon
Cortes
Severino
Montas/German

Hellava rotation!

Might be able to move some young arms to dump Donaldson. Not worried about Hicks with limited time as a 5th outfielder.

Anyone wanting to rewatch the Yanks spank their cross-eyed step sisters in 2000 WS it’s on the Yes network now🥇🏆
Calm down the Yankees have won one WS in 23 years. Let's not act you are a successful franchise like the Giants or Red Sox. After all, winning WS titles is all that matters. At least that is what my Yankee fan friends have always told me.

Severing as the 4th starter is a great rotation.

Lot of money and 6 year term for a Portly (fat) pitcher who has only pitched more than 170 Innings in a season once.

Don't even think the fat man pitched in 2017 thru 2020.

Glad Uncle Steve is forcing Cheap Hal to spend.

Lucky for Rodon that dining sucks in the Bronx otherwise I'd be concerned about his waistline even more

Way to stay classy.

Had the pleasure of being alive to enjoy 7 Championships. To me thats a success that not many fans of other teams can share. Perhaps celebrate things that make you happy and don't lament things beyond your control.

I don't like the Rodon signing. The only reason Cashman cares about him is because he has a high strikeout rate. He's only had two good seasons and doesn't eat innings.

David Wells and CC sure found a way to eat while here.

It is one of those gambles you have to take at times. He does improve the team.
If Rodon does stay healthy, that is a hell of a rotation.

I don't know a single Yankees fan that thinks a WS title is all that matters. I only hear that crap from loser Mets fans, most of whom weren't even alive the last time their team won a WS.
1986 was sooooo long ago.

I think Reagan and Gorbachev had an important summit meeting in 1986. LOL!

Honestly, if you would have offered me a bet in 1986 that the WS winning Mets outfit would not win another WS I would have given you good odds and taken that bet. The Amazins were very talented and very young. But, great for me and bad for Mets fans, that was it.

Too much coke. The 86 team should have been a dynasty.

The Mets big mistake was not introducing players they drafted to steroids. The Yankees started them young, and were ahead of the curve. Should we take a trip down memory lane and list the names? Even those they brought in were a who's who of steroid users. Mets went down the cocaine road, Yankees went down the TTT-The Tainted Title road.

Stupid Mets fan at it again.
Here are some facts. The only MLB person who was convicted for PEDs worked for the NY Mets!
NY Mets players had 7 different violations and suspensions. Including Jenrry Meijia who was the first 3 time loser under the testing program.
Yankees just 3.
You can't take a trip down memory lane because you are brain dead. 🤣🤣🤣
Again thanks for playing along.

You probably also thought those WWF wrestlers like Hulk Hogan and Rick Rude were all natural too. But sure, the Yanks were the only one who had guys on roids.
