Benintendi was a kick in the ass but had a feeling he was gone as soon as he got here. Didn’t seem like NY player
Which is strange because he was pretty good in Boston.Benintendi was a kick in the ass but had a feeling he was gone as soon as he got here. Didn’t seem like NY player
Yankees needed someone at that point but he wasn't great. His batting average went from .320 to .254 with the Yankees. Plus a higher strike out ratio. Obviously didn't want to go to a pressure situation and chose the White Sox. Yankees need a solution to left field but he didn't seem a fit for NYY.Benintendi was a kick in the ass but had a feeling he was gone as soon as he got here. Didn’t seem like NY player
Running out of options for a LF. Might turn into a see how the kid does and make a trade at the deadline if you need an upgrade. Reynolds price might come down by then.Yankees needed someone at that point but he wasn't great. His batting average went from .320 to .254 with the Yankees. Plus a higher strike out ratio. For the Mets? Sure. Might as well get the payroll over $400m. :)What would you guys think of a 1 year deal for Conforto? He could actually be a good fit if Boras doesn’t want a Long term deal.
I wouldn’t mind him back for the Mets but he could be a great get for the Yanks if he is healthy. Lefty bat and good fielder as well. For the Mets? Sure. Might as well get the payroll over $400m. :)
Obviously if the Mets don't want him, not even offered him, then why would the Yankees want him? Obviously there is an issue with the Mets not wanting him. Maybe if the Giants get involved the Mets will jump back in.I wouldn’t mind him back for the Mets but he could be a great get for the Yanks if he is healthy. Lefty bat and good fielder as well.
Clearly, no sour grapes here, LMFAO!!!!Obviously if the Mets don't want him, not even offered him, then why would the Yankees want him? Obviously there is an issue with the Mets not wanting him. Maybe if the Giants get involved the Mets will jump back in.
no idea if the Met's want him but it almost seems he is either more hurt than anyone lets on or Boras is killing him. But if healthy, a .250-260 hitter with 25+ HR that has performed in NYC and a lefty- if healthy, why wouldn't the Yankees consider him?Obviously if the Mets don't want him, not even offered him, then why would the Yankees want him? Yankees have enough players that spent a lot of time on the IL last season. Pass.no idea if the Met's want him but it almost seems he is either more hurt than anyone lets on or Boras is killing him. Always fair enough... And why I prefaced, if he is healthy. Hopefully, one or two of the kids step up and maybe even Donaldson gets his act together.Yankees have enough players that spent a lot of time on the IL last season. Pass.
Agree- and with the same thought, I would take him back on the Mets. But if I am his agent- I would do a 1 year with Yankees at a cut rate- it could be his best bet and place for long term if he proves out.If Boras is hunting for a 1 year deal, it's definitely going to be at max dollars. The potential is there for him to be good, but he's gotta prove it at a reasonable price first.
Great series. I love the early episodes about the history of the game (and leagues).Today and tomorrow MLB Network is doing their Christmas marathon.
Baseball: A Series by Ken Burns started this morning. Enjoy.
Agree. It's amazing the stories of it before it was professional including during the Civil War.Great series. I love the early episodes about the history of the game (and leagues).
Kind of an interesting hire. Great baseball person but interesting to hire him when Cashman has been doing it on his own for the past 25 years.
Maybe put a fire under BCKind of an interesting hire. Great baseball person but interesting to hire him when Cashman has been doing it on his own for the past 25 years.
Maybe put a fire under BC
I don’t disagree…but serious question- BC does build a team that gets into the playoffs every year- how much of the failure is him vs Boone and Girardi?Damn straight! :)
Playoffs are for sissies and JV teams. Time for championships.I don’t disagree…but serious question- BC does build a team that gets into the playoffs every year- how much of the failure is him vs Boone and Girardi?
As a couple of others may have noticed, I was not trolling at all. I won’t even respond to his bait.Playoffs are for sissies and JV teams. Time for championships.
Were they aware of how he pitched in 2022 ?Apparently, Chapman to the Royals is happening
Trade bait for deadline...
Who? Seriously, never heard of him. Had to look up his stats. Meh. But Meh is much better that Hicks.Could Profar be the answer for LF? Switch hitter, good defensively. Average hitter, decent pop. Not sure if he could be gotten on a 1 year deal though.

New York is still in the market for a left fielder. Profar would be an upgrade, but he won't be cheap.www.si.com
They don't need a superstar at every position. And yes, meh is a solid upgrade from Mr. Strikeout.Who? Seriously, never heard of him. Had to look up his stats. Meh. But Meh is much better that Hicks.
I'd throw two top prospects in a package with Hicks for Meh!Who? Seriously, never heard of him. Had to look up his stats. Meh. But Meh is much better that Hicks.

I think he at least earned that right with how he did last year. Should get a legit shot.👍🏻 I think Cabrera gets a shot in spring, hope he gets off to a good start and locks it up
Cabrera in limited action with the Yanks at the end of last season (44 games) hit .247 with 6 home runs and 19 RBIs. And played excellent defense at a number of positions.Could Profar be the answer for LF? Switch hitter, good defensively. Average hitter, decent pop. I have no problem that solution at all. It's other fans who think we have to spend 300 million on a payroll to compete. I think we should always give the young kids a shot before we trade them or toss them aside. The Yankees do a crappy job at that.Cabrera in limited action with the Yanks at the end of last season (44 games) hit .247 with 6 home runs and 19 RBIs. What would Profar bring to the Yankees that Cabrera couldn't ?
