I expect nothing from Parros. I'd set the O/U at 0.5 games that Rempe will get as a "first time offender." It's been open season on the Devils for years. This whole situation was handled poorly. Why not let MacDermid at Rempe? Let the players police themselves. This was the 3rd time in 3 games that a Ranger has injured a Devil this year. They brought this guy in here for protection and the refs hold him back? All that does is set up for a potentially bigger problem when they meet again in April.
As for Rempe, this guy is a total sideshow. I understand that he's embraced his role as a giant goon, but he's eventually going to paralyze or kill someone (maybe himself) with the way he plays. Every game, there's something with this kid. The tough guy doesn't answer the bell when MacDermid challenges in retribution for the Bastian hit. Then cowers again, getting escorted off with smiles and little waves to the Devil bench from behind the referees after assassinating Siegenthaler. Real tough guy stuff. And how dumb is he that he pulls that crap immediately after screening the goalie to put his team up 2-0? I pray the Rags roster this clown during the playoffs. He'd be pumping gas if he wasn't 6'7".
And so it goes for NJ. They muster 1 shot on the ensuing 5-min major after not scoring on the 5-min major the last time this scumbag took out one of their teammates. As much as I hate it, why not take liberties against this team? They're a soft, weak, gutless club right now. Teams don't expect a punch in the mouth in return. They're right more than they're not. This season has been exhausting.
